It's a sea slug. I you really upset them off they put out a red shot of ink. The Spanish used them as a red die when they first overran Mexico. Big
money maker for the them 400 years ago.It was the best long term red die at the time.

You guys are both right, it's a sea hare. It's an opistobranch, a type of nudibranch, thus the term "sea slug" is correct although "sea hare" is much
more commonly used. They do, in fact, eject a thick purple fluid when threatened.

That's one ugly Slug. Juan called them Seacows. I think I saw a few in the bar scene of Star Wars. Want to roll around and blow off some red tint, my sweet, little Slugette? Tio

Thinkin' about the ink that Wiley's gonna collect:
... put it in a generic base from Comex and paintin' the house
... or dyeing muslin for new curtains
... como no?

There is a woman out of Homer, Alaska, who uses octupus ink and makes the coolest pictures I have seen, so maybe we need someone with time on their
hands and a little artistic talent to start doing Pictures with Sea Slug Ink. I think they will have to work a little on the naming, though.

Her name was Dianna Tillion and she passed recently.....
The octopus ink and her talent gave the art an M.C. Escher meets Ralph Steadman quality. Very cool and if somebody got on the sea slug ink bandwagon
down this way they could make a splash pretty quick.
