Im stuck in the middle of nowhere in Baja, what should I do? I know I'll send Shari an e-mail. There was a time only smoke signals would have worked.

Tom's Excellent Adventure

full-coverage at 6, right?

Glad he's okeydokey.

Its a big coastline out there, and wonderful he could send emails from his phone,
even in that remote spot.

Emailing while stuck on some beach? I must be getting old, because that really blows me away. I'm going to have to chain one of my kids to their bed so they'll always be around to help the old man out with these technologies as they come online.

technology is just advancing by such leaps and bounds .... you blink and there is something new on the market.

and it is just amazing how kids pick it all up and tajke it right in stride while I just look open-mouthed at some of the new gadgets.

Technological "advances?"

An e-mail on the beach turns into a thread on Nomad exposing to the world that you have gotten yourself stuck in the sand.

Some "advancement," eh?

Well, if I'm stuck in the sand with no hope of getting out, my pride can take the hit while I wait to be rescued.

For personal knowledge, how does the signal get there, via satellite, or phone towers, or some other source of magic. This might be a safety factor worth getting.
