Camping at Punto Chivato????

If you feel like splurging there is a well reviewed inexpensive hotel there (El Hotelito Punta Chivato). It can be pretty hot here, but much cooler than inside the bay because of more breeze. Inside the bay are some pretty stunning locations too,

I had not heard that the camping was available again at Punto Chivato. I love that location for camping but the wind can get bad at times. Can someone confirm that there is camping at Punto Chivato?

Yes it's open - but it's dry camping - no services

It is beautiful and one of my dad's favorite places after he first went there in 1972. I have some photos I took (one of my folks swimming around the point below the hotel which was not operating at the time) in July, 1973.

Not David, but here's a picture.

Punta Chivato Camping Beach:

You can camp from here to the far cliffs. White sugar sand or finer. (gets into everything when it's windy). Good fishing along the base of the cliffs at low tide. Also on the other side of the point if you walk over the top past "ta ta hill". Old shower building is in the palm trees.
