Auto Insurance

It is time (thank goodness) to start getting our s--t together for our return to BCS. In the past we have always got our insurance through Vagabundos. The price has got very high for those of us who are lucky enough to spend more than 6 months in Baja. Iwas wondering what other companys other nomads are using and how they are to deal with regarding claims? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try 'Discover Baja' http://www.discoverbaja.com/

Many Nomads use them for their insurance as well as medical evacuation/legal program, etc. They can and will do just about anything for you when it comes to Baja travel. They're conveniently located in SD...very close to the 5, near Mission Bay area.

You can stop on your way to the border and be on your way very quickly.

Call Mario Ortiz in La Paz at 612-123-4242, the best deal I found with a reputable company. $273 per year for a Toyota Tacoma 2005 insured to the teeth, only catch a national cannot drive it, only a Gringo or Canadian.

I would like to see a Customer Satisfaction Poll
on Mex Ins Co's. There are somewhat few posts
on BN referring to claims filed with a Mex Ins Co, and
the results of these claims. There have been a few
but not many. I would not buy a policy with the,
what I consider low, $50,000 CSL, I always bump it up
to at least $100,000, I don't have a rational behind
it, an employee of one the San Diego Brokers informed
me, he doesn't remember a claim over $50,000 though.
I would go along with some other posts, bajabound
the HDI Mex Ins Co.
