crossing the border with a "freshly" purchased truck ?
jus bought this truck, here in "kalifornia",san diego.
It has texas plates so I expect registration issues,(jus cause "kalifornia" is what it is.
question....got a chance to go Gonzaga for a short trip.
IF....I get a "temp tag " from AAA,(along with mex insurance).
Do ya think I'll have" issues" with our glorious border patrol coming back across ????????????????????????

The border patrol does not police Kalifornias Vehicle laws.

you will have ZERO problems as long as you have the temp reg taped to your window, just like in the US. actually, AAA should give you new plates on
the spot.
just go.

No prob. Your temp registration is your reg. Ived work for Big dealerships the past 10yrs. FORD, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru and Hyundai. Bought a new
truck once in the morning and was in San Felipe that night

Exactly... The same afternoon I got my new 2005 Tacoma, I picked up the modified insurance policy at Discover Baja, and went to El Rosario. My 2010
Tacoma went to San Felipe before it had plates as well... it was 3 weeks old.
Photo on La Bocana beach, El Rosario... Truck is less than 24 hours old.

Thats true, but a temporary reg. is almost a guranteed trip to secondary going either way. they run the # aginst the hotsheet at a minum.

I think the new owner has to personally deal with the DMV for re-registration. There are SMOG issues to be dealt with as well.

Well...he said it had Texas plates, so I assume it's used.
I think we need Skeet for a real interpretation.

They absolutely, positively, most certainly can.
And on occasion, do.

Just like they enforce the California booze limit rule that doesn't apply to non-Californians.

You have to know and prove your position. You can't just show up with an out-of-state tag and expect an exemption. I know of folks who have done this.
