Owe Back "Predial" taxes on your property?

Heard on the radio and went by the palacio municipal to confirm that, if you are behind in your property taxes in La Paz, now is the time to catch up; they're giving you a 50% discount if you pay up.

I've always been among the stupid people who pay early for a 20 or 30% discount. Guess I'll have to re-think that one.

Oh, Well......I did the same thing.

But I just remembered my 5150 pesos YEARLY Predial is a lot LESS than the $337.00 per month I pay for my property taxes here in beautiful ORYGUN!

Just sayin'...

that's one reason nobody pays their taxes...here, very very few people have paid their predial taxes and if they sell their place, they just apply it to the selling price...pretty smart eh!

Now is too early if you are paid up. I went to the palacio municipal with the intention of taking advantage of the discount, and that's how I found out it is only applied to last year's outstanding dues. I'll post something when I found out they're starting the new discount cycle, but we all may want to wait a year for the best discounts.

A number of people in this area got notices that their property was going to be sold for back taxes. The action is still pending because they moved the date up. I dont know the particulars but not paying your taxes can be serious business.

not much incentive to pay early or even on time is it?
