Mexican Revolution Day Nov. 20th
I've been unfortunate enough to have tried to travel the peninsula on this day.
Not a good Idea! Anyone know if the holliday/parades will be on Saturday the 19th or Sunday the 20th?

I asked the same question awhile back with no response. Last year we were held up by 4 parades...all quite entertaining but made for a long day of
travel.

WARNING......

Read my lips....NEVER try going anywhere on the 20th! We left San Quintin at 9AM on that day ....

We finally made it to Ensenada at 5PM...YES...8 hours...that's E-I-G-H-T HOURS!
Parade after parade where they block off Hwy 1 TOTALLY. In these little places there is NO "get-a-round"...dozens of cars were trying....NADA! Some
of the carts pulled by a tractor or donkey were 10 minutes apart...blank!...nothing for 10 minutes or more while you sit and sit and sit. We saw 5
parades that day.
Things are expensive, but at least we get a free trip around the sun once a year

CasaManzana...that was a great funny response!!!!!
Never travel on Easter either. I dont have 2 hours to type out our nightmare we had a few years ago going to San Felipe.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

How hard will it be to get thru Ensenada from San Diego on Nov. 18th with the Baja 1000 going? plan on leaving around noon.
I've been to the start of the baja 250 and that was alot of people just trying to figure out when I should leave SD to get to San Quintin before
sunset.

revolution day is my favorite holiday in mexico as it is so colourful, historical and the fiestas they have are old fashioned...the food is the best
as it is cooked over open fires, the old way....soooo....plan to visit a village fiesta if you are down here...you wont be disappointed!

According to the http://www.sanfelipe.com.mx/ newspaper
The Mexican National Holiday to celebrate the Revolution is on Monday 21st. November. In San Felipe we will be holding parades.

Sounds like a good time. Will there be a trashbag brigade at the parade?
