Aren't these the trailer homes next to Rosarito Beach Hotel?? If so aren't all of the leases up this year and isn't Senor Torres taking all the property back, so no more leases?? If so this area is Senor Torres's dream of becoming part of a Marina for boats isn't it?? Just asking and maybe I could have gotten bad information on this but ME don't think so,HMMM????? Torres and Robles are pushing for this. The marina and the downtown boardwalk. Problem is there is a huge land investigation involving Rosarito Beach land titles and Torres specifically- so the Baja Governor didn't even present these projects to the federal gov't for funding. Robles is spinning around in circles and doesn't know what to do. The economic development head for Rosarito is Gustavo Torres. Dollars to donuts our Rancho La Costa Azul expert (whop actually owns all this land) - Ramuma53 will have more info on this.

Actually our lease isn't up for another 8 years so I guess maybe what you heard isnt correct, and yes they are " mobile homes" built like homes. We remodeled ours and its double the size now and looks nothing like a mobile home inside. If there was a way to upload pics here I would but I cannot reduce the size to 50 kb

cdw332, Hope you are correct on your lease for your sake, as the individual that told me worked for the Rosarito Beach Hotel. He even made a point of pointing out how people living in the trailer homes are letting them run down since they are too old to move out. Again, maybe he doesn't know what he is talking about on the leases but these homes use to be well kept but that is not the case now, correct?? Torres has no true and legal claim to the land and won't respect the 8 years left on any lease if he sees a way to make big money. This is the guy who tried to stick the people of Rosarito and tourists with downtown parking meters at $1 an hour. The marina and boardwalk plans are for immediate action- not 8 years down the road. The Baja Governor was the only one who put the brakes on it (for now) apparently, and Robles and Torres are very peeed off. Torres stands to lose ALL of his land downtown if Rancho La Costa Azul prevails in the current Machado fraud investigation. The last thing he will respect is the lease of the trailers unless those residents get very organized and vocal- very quickly.

I had heard that a prior administration committed to the parking meters-not Torres.

Hugo Torres is the prior administration. His son (Gustavo Torres) is the current head of economic development for Rosarito and is the only Realtor still selling the illegal condos (Playa Bonita Condos) near me. You can't make this stuff up...

He ALLEGEDLY got involved money laundering and some land swaps with the Sinaloas and now he can't get out... Allegations of money laundering? How else can you explain 90% Hotel occupancy and an empty town? And all those hotel guests paid in Cash dollars too? Only in Mexico...

"El exalcalde de Playas de Rosarito, Hugo Torres, tuvo amplio conocimiento de ello, pero al parecer “negoció”, no metiéndose con los rufianes, a cambio de que no le afectaran sus propiedades. "

We had an interview with Zeta Magazine yesterday. They were not even aware of the investigation until we told them. Zeta is a past supporter of Torres- so we will see if they break from their past and report the truth of what is happening in Rosarito. We'll know in a few weeks I guess...

Alot of that occupancy is the crew making the movie, and they are gone all day, but the bulk of them are staying at the RBH

The movie started in August. The occupancy has been reported high for years.

I agree with Wooosh on this

even if you have 8 years left on the lease, they will take your money for transferring the lease and still kick you out if they want to, you cant fight greedy when it comes to this, even if you organized with the other tenants you would be shoveling you know what against the tide,,, ever hear about a fire sale, it has been done before in Baja
