Looking for a one night stay in L.A. Bay
Hey gang,
My wife and I are taking a road trip from our South Campos (San Felipe) home through Gonzaga way to Bahia de los Angeles and need a room for one
night. This will happen sometime between Nov. 20th-23rd (will narrow down an exact day in a week).
Just looking for your personal recomendation for a nice hotel or room available at a private home.
We will be leaving our area very early to explore L.A. Bay area in the afternoon, have a local dinner, spend the night, get up early, explore again,
drive back North to our Casa.

We stay at villa-bahia. Damn nice.....on the water. GREAT hosts.

We stay here at times too....great little room (clean/no thrills unless your better half is with you)), perfect campsites too. Again...great hosts.
Cheap rates.
Both a few miles from the town (lights, noise)
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Our most favorite is Costa del Sol. Nice, Clean, Quiet yet close to everything, nice little restaurant, and secure for our trailered ATV.
Least favorite is Bahia Villa.

Agree IF you get one of the original rooms... if in the new building, check the bed (ours was harder than concrete in 2009)! Her cooking is
outstanding!!
If you are bringing dogs, then Villa Bahia may be great... on the beach north of town... Graham stayed there during the time he wrote his last book
before and after the island campout experience 'Marooned with Very Little Beer'.

F.Y.I. -- The only downside about the rooms is that you have to tell the Owner which TV channel you prefer to watch in your room, as it is controlled
via the cable in the bar.
You are walking distance to the Internet cafe and the towns liquor store/mini-market - Where you can buy ice, Cuban Rum, basic goods, etc.

I like the looks of Costa del Sol so Thanks for that info.
Edit for: If there are any Nomads in town we'd like to meet up if possible...
Just out of curiosity, how much per night?
We're not bringing the dogs, they're hangin' out at our Beach House with the teenager for these two days so a NICE hotel is what we are interested in.
We will need dinner and possibly breakfast for the next morning.
Any good spots for either? I know breakfast does not come early in
Baja so we may have to bring fruit and yogurt for breakfast and do Tacos on the way out of town then back up North.
I figure we'll explore North of town after we secure our hotel then get up the next morning and explore south along the bay as far as we can get along
the dirt road that follows the water.

The owner (I can't remember her name) also owns the Pemex station in the glorieta (Traffic circle). Breakfast is served at approx. 7 a.m. - Coffee is
served early by one of her beautiful daughters either inside of the restaurant/bar or outside in the parking area.
Nightly prices cost about $65 if I remember correctly.
**Bring plenty of cash since it goes quickly, and ATMs are as far away as Guerrero Negro.

She is really nice and the food her family prepares in the restaurant is great. Although, there is a restaurant further up the strip as you enter
town through the traffic circle on the right hand side which is very good as well.

We always stay at Costa Del Sol--with food & drink plus good reception at your fingertips. Victoria is a very nice & fun lady. We have had
much fun at her place. She is always glad to see you & will gladly help you find another place if hers is full up.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
We're leaving South Campos San Felipe early early Sunday Morning, exploring Bahia and other spots along the way, spending the night at Costa del Sol,
exploring the Bahia North and South the next day and make our way back to our Beach House by nightfall.
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

be sure to stop by the museum - you can meet some locals, see arts and crafts as well as the exhibits. we enjoyed it.

If you make it to the south bay, call "Rancho Pacifico" on channel 68 vhf and stop in and have a beer.

Mr and Mrs Warrior- we should be down during that time leaving Sat Am - stop by for a cold one ! - we are north of town at the La Ventana sign, just
before the Los Vientos hotel, and a little north of Villa Bahia - always good to meet some new nomads! - look for the Dana Point harbor sign...
