Iphone GPS app for Baja?

I just bought an iphone 4s and want to get a GPS app for it that would work in Baja. The main GPS apps seem to be:

Navigon North America
Navigon Mexico
Garmin USA
Tom Tom

Does anybody have any experience with any of these apps in Baja? I believe Navigon North America only covers USA and Canada. I'm not sure if Navigon Mexico covers Baja or just the mainland. Google has nothing on this that I have found.

Is there a better solution for the iphone for baja gps?

Any information about these apps as it relates to the iphone would be much appreciated.

Obviously, a gps app would only work where there is 3g cell phone coverage. If you were in the middle of nowhere you'd have no service. Let me know if you find anything. I'd like a Baja gps app, but I doubt there is one that's actually any good.

Sorry. You both are incorrect. :). The apps I listed have the maps saved on the iPhone already and do not require any phone data connection.

Yes. There are some gps apps such as google maps that DO require a phone connection. But hey, that's why that app is free and the ones I listed are $40 - $120 depending on country.

Anybody else?

So you're saying your iPhone can be out of range - say on the north road to scorpion bay- out of cell coverage by 40 miles- and still know where it is - without being able to check in with towers for its whereabouts? Wow. I love my iPhone but didn't know it could do that.

I took a boat to Hawaii last winter, turned my iPhone on about 2000 miles out, and got no signal. If I had a gps application I would have? With my face cringed I call BS. No disrespect. Teach me if I'm wrong.

I downloaded the TomTom USA and Mexico GPS for my 3gs. It is 50 bucks and takes about 20 mb.

It is not bad, but far from perfect.

Well it's not exactly an app you can make an icon on the iPhone home screen for BN or any website you frequent. On the iPhone all you do is go to the site you want. On the bottom of the screen there's a box with an arrow heading right, tap that and then"add to home screen". It will make an icon that you just tap it like an app and it opens right to it. Whatever page in the website is open when you do this is the page that comes up. I have BN set to open on today's posts.
