Recommendation for tourist who wants to kayak in Loreto???
This is entirely out of my realm so I am sorry if I should be asking somewhere else...
Gotta friend who wants to day-kayak in Loreto. She has not kayaked but is/was a sailorboater and a scuba diver so she is waterwise.
And she is a darling and precious person whom we love very much.
So, what outfit can we feel good about sending her to?
Oh ya, she does not speak spanish but that would not stop her from going with a guide who does not speak English.

She can rent a kayak in town. Not speaking spanish no problemo. Start early and paddle north to Isla Coronado. I remember it as a two hour paddle. A
really cool beach and Sea Lions on the point.
If she can get the boat to Pto. Escondido a paddle to Isla Danzante is doable. Also the southern tip of Carmen is good for an overnighter. I have done
this many years ago. Nowadays one may need a permit to visit these places.

You are doing it the right way, asking first.
I know a Loreto outfitter who is experienced and knowledgable about kayaking around Baja Sur shores... my old friend, Trudi Angel. I've done a bit of
kayaking on the Sea of Cortez, and a couple of other places, but Trudi is a first class expert and what I know cannot compare with her knowhow.
(Nowadays, I just kayak locally and use the sit-on-top Cobras...getting older, but not old-old.)

Unless she is retired now...Trudi also does trips with NOLS, another nieghbor of mine in Coyote Bay. NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) does
several kayak trips a year from here down the coastlne of Baja. Plus she does mule and horse trips into the mountains, too, in case you are
interested in those adventures.
You might contact a neighbor of mine, NOLS, and ask them your questions, too. I am sure they could provide a wealth of first hand information.
They offer kayaking courses many times a year...1 to 4 week trips down the coast from Coyote
Bay.

I have known Trudi Angell since she started here in the '70's. Not only an expert kayaking guide, but also an outfitter into the Baja outback.
Certainly one of the most experienced and knowledgeable people I know concerning kayaking, trekking, mule trips,...heck, all outdoor adventure in
Baja.

historical routes of El Camino Real."
You could not go wrong contacting either for advice about kayaking Baja. Good luck and bon voyage.

Get an intrperteter that can explain to her " Sit in the Kayak, exercise balance from mid body and paddle", she will do fine.

Actually, she might not do fine...
CP, from your first post I assume your friend is inexperienced and possibly kayaking alone. And since this is November it may be winter water she's
going out on. The north wind can make the paddle to Coronado dangerous, and on top of that there is an eccentric current between shore and the
island. Experienced kayakers have found themselves in big trouble out there. And the paddle from Escondido to Danzante is longer than it looks--
strong winds may come up in the early afternoon.
Pompano's advice is good. Hire a guide, don't paddle alone. Trudi's guides at Paddling South (tourbaja) are excellent, going out with them is a
great way to learn about the water here. If you want to paddle solo, stay close in near the city beach.

No worries on basic common sense safety here. Lotsa worldly land and sea experience betwixt us.
I have asked her lodging in Loreto to try to sort out a rental kayak and a kayaking guide.
