Winery outside of Ensenada
Last November while driving the road to Tecate from Ensenada through the wine country I noticed up on the hill behind one of the wineries what seemed
to be small glass buildings or maybe bungalos? 6-10 or so. looked like a good spot to take the wife for a weekend getaway. Does anyone have any info
on this spot? Sorry for the poor description but was in a hurry to get home and no time to investigate for myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Before I can give you my recomendation I need to know if it's your wife or someone else's. I have some experieince on the former but none on the
latter.

The only campground I know of out there is Rancho Sordo Mudo which is a facility for the deaf/mute, and that facility is across the highway from the
campground.
I wonder if that's what you're seeing?

Looks like Rancho El Cerrito Campground according to this map:

I believe you're referring to "Encuentro Guadalupe," on the opposite side of the road from L.A. Cetto (close by). It's a fairly new place; check it
out at http://www.encuentroguadalupe.com/

I think we're talking about the same place. Rancho Sordo Mudo does, or did, open and run it and for quite a while it had no name other than Sordo
Mudo.
Now they call it Rancho El Cerrito? OK.

I think Encuentro Guadalupe is more of a conference/event facility than lodging

Possibly; we've only been to couple of events there, never stayed though. But this link seems to suggest it is now a hotel: http://tinyurl.com/73cxkas

It would sure seem that way from the link.
But I think they're going to have to do a better job with their information if they want people to actually stay there.
I wonder if the building is ready, but they're still working out the program on the hotel services. Either that, or it's just simply too, too

Whenever I see excessive amounts of money spent here with no apparent market studies or desire to make a profit, I have to consider the source. So
many exclusive tourism types of hotels have been bought or built that never have a guest while never showing a vacancy on their books.
It's Mexico's Money Maytag.
