GONZAGA TO SAN FELIPE?
I haven't been on "that road" (Gonzaga to Puertecitos) for 5 years. So how much of it is now paved and what the driving time would now be from Gonzaga
to S Felipe? We are driving a Trundra 4x4.
In February any recommendations for motels in S Felipe. Just the two of us with no wives along so we aren't fussy. Requirements; Toilet that functions
and hot water.

edit to include useful info: i think i remember 10 miles of dirt leaving Gonzaga, so about 4 hours?

About an hour drive time from San Felipe to Puertecitos and about 30 minutes on new pavement from Puertecitos South and about 13 miles of dirt left to
Gonzaga Bay from there. Still unimproved from Gonzaga through Coco's to Hwy. 1.
Just did it two weeks ago.
Sorry no recommendations for a Hotel, we have a place below San Felipe so...

We came down that way a few days ago. Seems like about 12 Km not paved and work has stopped except for some final cement work . Interesting that a
lot of the new pavement is at 110Km an hour. The construction equipment is all on a lot by the water about a Km from the road, sitting. The last 12
Km is as bad as ever.
Gonzaga was blowing hard, not nice.
No diesel at the Pemex and the other guys pump was broke but managed to get 20 liters out of a jug for 12.9p per liter. Didn't need it just
insurance.
About 3-4 Km before San Felipe is a fairly new motel for $28.00usd Clean with lots of hot water after you let it run for a while.
COCO is doing fine dropped off some fruit and a few other things.

Leidys and I stay north of San Felipe at Diamante Motel. It is close to the Colorado Restaurant and is economically priced at $32.00 USD.
My friends Benny and Avi stayed at El Capitan close to the Malecon for $50.00 USD. The posted price is $85/night, but they negotiated with management
and were able to stay close to the center of town for a much better price.

Ken that's the same motel we stayed at. Anne noticed the peso to dollar difference from the sign and the Lady quickly reduced it to $28.00.
I have "old timers" so 13 miles can sometimes feel like 12 miles, that my story and i'm sticking to it.
Good motel what ever the price.

I paid with US Dollars since I was camping and Jeeping in the desert. We used a calculator to make sure we didn't overpay.
