ATM for LA PAZ

ATM for LA PAZ

My plan is to open a separate checking account for withdrawing money in La Paz.
In other words I will deposit enough money to cover my expenses while in B.C.S.
Then draw it out in pesos from a bank machine.

So which US bank is cost effective and compatible with La Paz.
More available branches, smaller fees etc.

All US accounts can be accessed from BCS ATMs, for example if you have BOA you can ise Santendar for no fee and the best rat other banks charge a small fee. No need for a BCS account at all, most likely the transfer will cost more.

I got a Citibank account for just that reason,

they work together with Banamex. No transfer fees between the two banks,

you can do it online, and I believe no ATM fees when using the Banamex one.

My bank does the same. I prefer the Banamex ATM machines. They cannot eat your card, you insert and withdraw the card. After having two eaten:fire::fire:, I will only use those machines now.

Those machines are fairly new in Mexico. Couple of years ago, we brought an old school chum with us for a trip. Turns out she had been banking ay Chase for many years and they have these same ATMs. She inadvertently left her card in an ATM in Cabo. Had to go to the bank the next day to retrieve. Habit.
