WANTED: Baja Sur RV Parts/Supply Source

Hola Nomads,

Brace yourself. I have a question about a 'Loo'.

I need some information about repairing my motorhome camode. (Camode: a classy toilet, right?)

Does anyone know if there is any source for a RV throne and/or parts in Baja Sur? I thought there was one in San Jose a few years back, but I can't locate them.

For sure, I need a water step pedal/mechanism for my RV 'water closet'..the brand is Thetford.

...or worst case scenario, I need a whole new thunder box...opps....camode.

The head's water dispenser lever is...kaput! And the flush pedal is not in such great shape, either!!

Seems someone stomped/busted it on the last return trip to Mulege from San Diego.

Ahem, I would never mention any names, of course.

Thanks in advance for any help on my camode....;)

Hey, that's BajaNomads at it's best. Real quick work, guys, thanks!

I do recall Wahoo now...and had great service with them many years ago on a delivery to Coyote Bay.

Now...if anybody can get in touch with Santa to see if he has passenger room when coming thru Manitoba.. ;)

We're currently in Boulder Colorado for Christmas- we'll leave here the first part of January. Have a couple of stops along the way but will be in El Burro around the 2nd week of January. Lots of RV service centers near here with plenty of parts etc. If you have problems getting in Baja Sur let me know specifically which parts you want and I can bring them with me.

That is a very gracious offer...and one we are coming to expect on BajaNomad.

Muchas gracias, amigo...I hope it doesn't come to that, but nice to know just in case. A few cold ones await you..so drive safe and get here in one piece to enjoy them.

¡Buen viaje!

You might want to verify if your toilet is porcealin or plastic. The cost of replacement for porcealin is quite expensive and is limited to just a few vendors. The replacements parts and mechanisms are easier to come by just the porcealin body is tough.

I know the pain of those porcealin thrones, Bob. I have one in a classy fifth wheel. Thank Neptune, the Southwind motorhome is a relatively cheap plastic toilet and much easier on the pocketbook. The model number defines whether it is plastic or porcealin.

In the worst case, I could just buy a new Thetford plastic GH, GL, SL, or SH for about $200 and install it myself....

....although I do have a certain fellow in mind who's a perfecto candidate to install that 'John'. ;)

Thanks for the head's up, it was thoughtful and appreciated. I 'have' been known to make a rare SNAFU now and then...usually before lunch.
