Mexico closes immigration gates for access to the US due to corruption

There are some access gates to the border inspection stations at San Ysidro and Mexicali that are presumably used only by Mexican immigration
officials for official business. These gates were closed by Mexican immigration to investigate corruption by immigration officials for accepting money
to allow certain people to essentially jump to the front of the line to cross into the US.

It is alleged that Mexican immigration officials are taking $20 bribes to let certain people and officials jump to the front of the line. These gates
are supposed to be used by Mexican immigration only to return people back to the US who they refuse entry into Mexico. Instead they are letting people
get in line to enter the US through the return gates...for a fee.

I didn't know about the $20 line service fee. That would have saved me a lot of time. I'd pay $20 to be bumped up to first class service. What's so
corrupt about that? The airports in the U.S. do that at the security gate.

So then, you are saying when a government official takes $20 from somebody, puts it into his own pocket, and then lets him cut in front of people who
have been waiting in line for 2+ hours, that is not corruption?

And then you say that America officials are taking the same bribes to let people cut in front of line at airports?

I just want to make sure I understand your position on this.

No, I'm saying that I'm being a smartass.

But there is a separate line in the U.S. airports for business class travelers who do not have to wait in the security line.

I'd pay $40 to get to the front of the line. Well worth it.

It IS Wrong, BUT .............

"I don't want to set the World on Fire".

I also don't want to wait in line at the border.

Now, I don't need to, BUT in the past, IF I could have handed some guy a double-sawbuck to miss out on an hour + wait, WOULD I ?

You BET your Life, I would.

WHERE the money went, no concern of mine.
