Yes, Bahia de los Angeles has 24/7 power now... comes from Guerrero Negro and the power lines run along side Hwy. 1 and the L.A. Bay highway.

Pretty sure the new malecon and the new slips in Guaymas were funded by the EN project.

It's pretty nice, really, especially if you remember what that section of waterfront looked like five years ago.

The new Santa Rosalia slips have made life nicer for those of us in San Carlos Sonora who use it as a stepping stone for cruises south. Fueling there is MUCH easier. It's also great being able to do an overnighter or so with restaurants and such. For newbies who come to SC, SR is an interesting town. For Baja regulars, it's just SR. But that's fine. Real, working Mexican towns like SR and Guaymas are nice to have around.

The biggest benefit for boaters in BoLA is the powerlines enabled them to have fuel now. Actually 2 stations last time I was there.

seems like it's ALIVE!

on a trip to the wall on sunday after the swell had dropped there were 11 (i ran out of appendages) concrete trucks that had driven, convoy style, from ensenada. they were loaded dry and were filling from the towns supply of water that is trucked in.

they were pouring the dirt road that comes down the hill on the south side of the town. no blade had scrapped it, very little prep work from the looks of it.

who has this kind of $??? on a sunday? what's wrong with the perfectly good road that is paved right to the marina?

Mexico divested of this project as much as possible in 2009/2010. Looks like they felt it was a Fox administration boo-boo.

I'm not aware of the final details.

I liked the slick full color brochures twisting arms about the "Mega Retirement Resort" in Loreto better. Escaloco Nausea was not even worth a blink. The Loreto project was more fun to deal with.

Email went back and forth. They argued and I smirked.

Finally tiring of the game I emailed...

"Where is all the water going to come from? You know, lawns, golf courses, swimming pools?"

Silence. Then oblivion...
