One quick cut of the soft steel in the steering wheel and the CLUB will be on the floor. Highly overrated as a theft deterrent, but I'll bet you know
that by now.
Sorry for your loss.

....from the word on the street around here,,the only real security feature for the # of thefts in TJ,,is ''don't even think about stopping in
TJ'',,,from the sounds of it,,day or night,,there's GREAT risk otherwise.
...just remember the description,,this WILL show up somewhere in baja,,and it WILL drive past or park in front of a nomad!!!
was walking about playasTJ today, handing out more 'recompense' flyers.........came across on already posted in a place I hadn't been yet.......it
helped a bit!
...a propane guy says he 'thinks' he saw it somewhere,,,yer never know

"The Club" may stop or deter amateurs or joy-riders, but is useless against pros, as most everything else is. I must admit I use The Club on all my
vehicles, and none of them has ever been stolen--------------PROOF that they work, eh????
I too am sorry for the loss of your trusty pony and cabin..... I've been right there and felt your angst.
Just a cautionary word for you..... be careful flashing cash or making your head the target for someone's club or bullett. It may be the GOOD part
of the story that you were NOT sleeping in the van.... it really could have been worse.
No rig is worth risking your life for.... Especially an old "cube van" which is what these used to be called by most...... I owned 2 wayback, a 2WD
delux and a 4WD that was all trick & a really great rig.
I met an "older woman" solo camped near Todos Santos, winter of 1988/9 who had a new (then) 4WD Cube Van that was a camper with a pop-top.... when I
got back N., I sold my VW van!!! Hmmmm that "older woman" was younger than I am now.... WTH happened...?
One other detail / suggestion for fellow Nomads: I have copies of my Passport, US Drivers' License, FM3, (and some other important cards &
info)that I scanned and emailed to myself (and saved in my email account files) in the event my papers are ever stolen or lost. My assumption is that
it would help facilitate / simplify / save time and stress with replacements, and getting where I needed to go.... Fortunately, I have not had to
test that hypothesis . . . . yet & hopefully never.
Good Luck 2 U

Nomad 'TW' totalled his Toyota in Mexicali, and I parked my Rubicon in front of the OXXO to talk with Police on his behalf.
As my Jeep sat, filled with camping gear - a lowrider pulled into the parking lot, and two men inside scanned the parking lot for the owner of MY
Jeep.
They looked across the street and saw me STARING BACK AT THEM as I spoke to the POLICE.
Hmmm, "Not a good idea" they must have thought as they quickly drove off.

Well, you found out how effective the kill switch was. The object of the exercise is to DISABLE the car by removing a component needed for the engine
to run.
