Drunk gringo deported
ENSENADA.- Una persona de nacionalidad estadounidense fue reportada ante las autoridades de La Misión, al negarse a pagar la cuenta de su comida y
ponerse agresivo con los empleados del lugar.
Con un fuerte olor a alcohol, un “gringo” de 61 años entró a un restaurante ubicado en la carretera libre Ensenada-Rosarito llamado Restaurante
Magaña, y al llevarle la cuenta dijo que no tenía dinero, al mismo tiempo que le “echaba bronca” a los empleados del lugar y a la clientela que
tranquilamente ingería sus alimentos.
Por lo que se dio aviso a las autoridades las cuales al llegar se entrevistaron con el que dijo llamarse Fratus Gary Alfred, quien dijo no tener
dinero para pagar la cuenta, aparte de que se encontraba en notable estado de ebriedad.
Por tal motivo fue llevado a las instalaciones de la delegación para hacerle los exámenes correspondientes y al preguntarle por sus documentos
manifestó no tener, por lo que fue presentado ante el juez calificador en turno, el cual determinó consignarlo ante el Instituto Nacional de
Migración.
ENSENADA - An American was reported to the authorities in La Misión after refusing to pay the bill for his food and becoming aggressive with the
restaurant's employees.
With a strong smell of alcohol, a "gringo" who was 61-year old, went into a restaurant named Restaurante Magaña located on the free road from Ensenada
to Rosarito, and when brought his check said he had no money and "started a fight" with the employees of the location and also the customers who were
eating their food peacefully.
The authorities were called and they interviewed the man, named Gary Alfred Fratus, who said he had no money to pay the bill, in addition he was
noticeably drunk.
For this reason he was taken to the police station to be examined, and when asked for his documents, he said he had none. He was brought before the
magistrate, who determined to consign him to the Immigration Institute.

Why is it that Baja/Mex brings out the overdrinking
in so many Gringo Tourists, I'm not excluding
myself, as has been my observation over the yrs. I think every Baja bartender thinks all
Gringos are alcoholics. What I'm attempting to say is
alcohol consumption by Gringos in Mex SEEMS to be
a high priority, it is not uncommon to see intoxicated Gringos
coming out of the Miramar Bar San Felipe beer in hand
and hop into their dune buggy. Perhaps no more so than
in the US, maybe more VISIBLE in Mex. I think a lot
of Mex Nationals look at Gringos as a bunch of borrachos.
Although Mex locals camping on the beach during
a Mex holiday will keep up with anyone

Saw people arrested three times, twice at Walmart in Rosarito and once at the Calimax also in Rosarito... in a 14 month period of time...
But, I didn't get out all that much...

1. He wasn't a tourist.
2. Over-drinking is encouraged. I've never seen any social conscience exhibited by a bartender in Mexico. Their goal is to separate you from
your money.

i do find it enlightening when individuals declare their politics or prejudices in their signature. sure makes it easy to judge a book by the

It is very easy to be a drunk gringo in Mexico if the cold ones are truly COLD and the tequila is truly good tequila, as the mixture seems to add to
the COLD ONES when enjoying the shooters with them,MMMMM. However, one should always know their limits especially if they have no dinero,LOL!! Take

The perception that all gringo imbibe way too much may be related to the fact that most are here on vacation and that tends to bring out the "best
behavior" in people. I grew up in a tourist area just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park where my parents owned a motel that catered to
tourists. Almost exactly the same phenomenon occured there and we used to wonder a little about why the tourists drank so much more (in our
perception) than the local people.

The resturant in question is not a tourist trap, its a local hangout for expats from La Mission area. The family that runs the place should have cut
him off, they know better also know who has money to pay thier bills.

Don't know who this Mengano is but I have never heard so much negative post from any true NOMADS. All the negative thoughts this person ( NOT A NOMAD)
has happens all over the world and yes that includes the good old USA and not just in Mexico.
