They used to only serve dinner to non-B&B guests on a 48 hour advance res' & when available. Just now opened new restaurant, Corazon de Tiera and I'm planning a visit next week. The menu, above, is what they served some irreverent TV chef on a recent visit.

Oh yes..I forgot that place and thanks for reminding me!!! You know, someone once told me that the new Splash restaurant up the coast was the Marine Room of the Tijuana-Ensenada corridor...say WHAT?? Going to San Diego this weekend, and plan to visit the Marine Room to see if its what I remember...if any place is the Marine Room, its Punta Morro....as for Splash...as Betty Davis would say..."What a ...??" Won't say it, for offending those that don't want negative comments....!!!

El Rey Sol is my second choice.

All these great things said about Sanos but nobody has mentioned the new bar at Sanos...They really know how to make a great martini. The bartender I can't remember his name maybe Fernando? He really knows how to over serve his martini hahaha. And as always the food is, in my opinion the BEST steakhouse in Ensenada.

San Diego is a dirty word...hahaha

To know if Splash is the Marine Room of Baja, you need a little history of what and where the Marine Room is all about....so I am researching this as its been a long time since I have been there...and Splash reminded me of Gordo's with plexiglass dividers that is not on a hill...so I don't think its quite like the Marine room but I will report back.....any New Yorker would be insulted if someone said a good Nathan's Hot Dog was not gourmet!!! So would a Mexican if you didn't include a taco!!!

Sorry we offended you, bajabound2005 . .... I guess we all just got carried away with a "conversation". However I thought that was the purpose of a forum.....:P. I guess you could start your own "forum" and make a rule that nothing is mentioned other then the precise subject. Let me know if you do, so I can stay away from it. Somehow it doesn't sound like much fun. I'll try harder in the future not to offend you.... However, don't go away mad, ***************************************************************************

Not to Get All Preachy on Y'all

But, please, can't we Nomads do a read over and edit before posting snarky remarks on a topic? Can't we disagree in a civil manner?

Jesse is no longer posting.

Bajabound is offended by the uninformed and careless insults when she was just trying to provide recommendations in answer to Doug's question.

I miss Jesse's input and analysis and I have bookmarked all of Bajabound's recommendations for Ensenada dining.

Someone on this post said that the internet is a flat area where there is no context and I say BS, because Shakespeare wrote on a flat piece of paper (or sheepskin) and his audience reacted in the theatre after hearing his words.

The difference is that the reactions were on site and face-to-face.

She [they] did exactly that. The Punta Banda Bulletin Board. Hard to get posted there unless you're an illegal alien trying to make a living in Punta Banda.:lol:

BTW, "fine dining" is relative. To some it very well may be a taco stand or a hot dog stand. Does it have to be "hoity-toity" to be "FINE".
I've eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world. And I've eaten some of the finest food in some of the dumpiest restaurants in the world. From Hong Kong to Barcelona and back and everywhere in between. Now it's just my opinion but this is an open forum. ISN'T IT ???...:smug:...:smug:
