Easter

Easter is on April 8th Sunday

A few years ago I made the MAJOR mistake of driving into San Felipe on Easter Day. I'd rather be lashed twenty times and then thrown off a cliff........than to drive on Easter again.

Well.......
My young son's Spring vacation ends on Easter Day Sunday this year........and I may have to add an extra day to his vacation by not getting him to school on Monday.

If we drive home....which day be best to LEAVE San Felipe:
Saturday - Sunday - Monday?

Thanks.

a word of caution about easter week, semana santa here in baja....the beaches on the gulf side are packed, things get very noisy and the roads are full of either drunk or hungover, tired people and there are lots of accidents and traffic....but the worst part is that the lineups at the military checkpoints are super long and can take more than an hour to get through so plan accordingly.

Yes.....we know :-) We always head to out house before all that happens...except Nic's vacation period was changed by the school this year :-(

We indeed got caught up in all what you said......5 years ago.

So the answer is neither of the above days. The whole week prior to Easter and the entire week after should be avoided driving distances in north and southern Baja if at all possible.

The grass is always greener....
and so, there is always a better spot in Baja

we made the same mistake years ago and drove to la paz

had major car trouble and no one was available to help out mechanic-wise

BIG mistake but one that we too shall have to endure this year again since I want to head north to visit mom and since I now am a teacher, guess what ???? I too only have semana santa off :(

Come visit La Bocana

Sunday (Easter) is the absolute worst day to head north.
