Shuttle from SD to TJ Airport?

Im flying out of TJ to Guadajara in May and was wondering if anyone knows anything about a mode of transport that takes you from the US side across the border and drops you at the TJ airport. There wil be 8 of us. Option 2 is just driving the cars across and parking them at the airport for 9 days. Any help would be appreciated.

Volaris is flying my whole family (4) round trip for $600. Wow.

From the Volaris website

Finally, and from Tijuana, we offer shuttle services to downtown San Diego, California, San Ysidro and vice versa. This is a service offered by Crucero ground transportation and offered exclusively to our clients.

It's not easy to find, but here is the link to the Volaris Shuttle Service

It leaves from the Greyhound bus station in downtonw San Diego and costs less than $15 one way. It will take you directly to the airport. Busses leave pretty frequently and it's easier to just walk in to the bus station and get the ticket than it is buying it on line.

If you have enough Spanish to negotiate the web page, the shuttle serivce has a list of all the Volaris flight numbers along with what time you should take the shuttle from SD. They're giving at minimum a 3 hour window on most flights. Depending upon what time your flight leaves TIJ that may be more time than you need.

The trip with average traffic takes about 35-40 minutes. About 20 mintues to the border where Mexican officials will board the bus and ask to see everyone's ticket. I've been told that sometimes they will make everyone get off and they'll off load all the luggage and you have to clear customs there at the border. I've not had that experience. Once through the Mexican border stop it's another 10 minutes on to the airport.

Volaris allows passengers to print their bordering passes up to 72 hours in advance of the flight. I would highly recommend you do that. They've got a dedicated line for passengers with bording passes to drop off their luggage. It is a substantially smaller and faster line than the regular line for flight check-in.

Getting to TIJ via shuttle is easy, coming back is a royal PITA. The last time I took the Volaris shuttle from the Tijuana airport to cross back it was a 2 hour wait for the bus to get up to the passenger drop off point for American immigration/customs. I think everything and everybody was moving faster than the bus line. Then I couldn't find the right bus back on the American side for the trip back, so I just hopped the trolley.

The Volaris shuttle busses are pretty beat up, but they'll get you there an back. It just takes some time.

Transporte Terrestre

http://www.taxisairport.com/en/

My fare is $70 one way from north park to the TJ airport via otay. This is the fare for a large passenger van so it's cost effective if there's a group. I recommend calling for your reservation rather than booking on the internet if you decide to go this way.

Dana

Forgot to mention the daily rate at TJ airport is about $16usd/day.

I parked at this place a few months ago. They shuttle u to the border for free, you walk across jump in a cab and you're at the airport in 10 minutes. Do the reverse on the way back. Super easy.
