This guy is???


Even had that thing happen at night where you turn your headlamp into the darkness and see endless sets of tiny, mysterious white eyes (even BEFORE the Tecates kick in)? Well on a recent trip we trounced off into the coastal brush to finally solve that riddle. We found tons of these guys, about the size of a silver dollar...



Anyone know what they're called? And do they make decent tent mates?

they're best left inside your buddies ugg boot. if that isn't possible, drop it in a covered pot or pan on the campstove and wait for morning!

Yep,

pretty sure it's a wolf spider ,

they're thick on the central Baja pacific coast especially near good surf breaks, are nocturnal and are definitely poisonous.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I've been down there many many times, but it's really been the last few year I've noticed these guys in such massive quantity.

I'll be taking Woody's advice going forward.

Anyone been bit?
