Road conditions on the Alcan Hwy to Alasks

We're planning on driving to Anchorage Alaska in July. This will be a first for us and we would love to hear from others who have driven the Alcan Hwy. Suggestions? Recomendations?

Thx, Bob

I think this is for road conditions in BAJA.

With that said I have always wanted to make the Alaska drive myself.

Hi Bob,

I drove from California to Fairbanks in 1975. I have great memories. I left mid May and lakes in Canada were still covered in ice. Drove back in July, lots of bugs when the weather warms up.
Yukon Territory was real nice. I was on a tight budget. From Anchorage float planes are available, I didn't take one but would if I went again.
Take your time and have fun. I drove 11,000 miles, so had many side trips. At that time the "dirt road" was nice gravel in most areas, no problems in my 2WD Toyota
Always thought it would be fun to drive Alaska to Baja, 4-6 months would make it a nice trip.
