Puertecitos
Hey guys Im looking at possibly heading down to the Puertecitos/Pt. Bufeo area in 2 weeks with my dad. And I was wondering instead of staying in San
Felipe, iare there any basic accomodations between Puertecitos and San Felipe, in terms of rooms with bathrooms ? We are planning on doing some
corvina fishing about an hr south of Puertecitos. Are they all fished out north of there ? Puertecitos is about an hr south of San Felipe right ?Any
insight is appreciated. Thanks !

stay in San Felipe, at one time there was a restraunt and a little hotel in Puertecitos, but this was a number of years ago now, restraunt was okay,
basic, nothing other than the hot springs in town,

There are rooms at Puertecitos and Punta Bufeo... may be rustic.
From a 2009 post on the rooms at Puertecitos:
"Arrived at Puertecitos on Sataurday evening 2/28 with two dirtbikes in the back of the pickup truck. Stayed at the little motel there right on the
bay. $45 per night wich was way overpriced for the accomodations in my opinion. The rooms are very rustic and are more like cabins than rooms. Rooms
are small with two twin beds, and a tiolet "nook" area (no doors or curtains so you need to ask your friends to leave when you need to do your
business. toilets had running water but the shower and sink running water was not operational. Ate at the restaraunt which just opened for the season
that same day - we were told that we were the first customer of the season. Food is OK but overpriced as well. Everything is priced in dollars at the
Puertecitos complex so we were unable to take advantage of the favorable exchange rates. Spent an hour in the hot springs which was nice, but the
flood lights they put out there are very distracting and make it hard to enjoy the stars."

I haven't been to Pta Bufeo in a while, but the last time I was en campo the rooms there were adequate and clean...but don't expect a lot.
You're asking about the places in between Puertecitos and PB, though, and the choices are nil. There're some palapas at Bahia Cristina and I believe
you can camp out there...maybe have a meal or two at the café.
If you want, I can contact a friend at Bufeo and inquire for you.

P.S. Here's a good thread on Baja Nomads you might want to read...if you haven't already.

Very very rustic :-)
Good for a hot shower and something comfee to sleep on. The campsites there are just great....power to each site till 10 pm Restrooms are shower is
at a minimum. I like the joint...ask for Clara...she is the owner, speaks English well. Ramp fee / hot mineral springs..... is included with the $20
dollar a day fees. I like there because it has that boat ramp.
Bahia Cristina is down the road a bit. Not bad. bathrooms...cold shower. Restaurant is NOT open. Shore launch is a maybe if you have a small craft.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.
