I haven't been there for a couple of years now. However I plan to head up there after the SF250 race this coming weekend.

Same as it has always been but the rate has gone up to $70 per person but includes dinner and breakfast. During the week they may not have a bartender so you can just buy beers.

You're asking for opinions, so here's mine: it's an overpriced dump staffed by rude people and the food is horrible. And you'll be knee deep in 17 yr old motocross pricks.

Brutal opinion, but it's been earned the hard way. Never going back and not at all what I expected.

I still remember the poor food and very cold showers. Really not impressed.

Used to be a great place, but the last opinion reflects about what I found last time I was there..I had hoped I just hit a bad day...

not much competition in the area, so the proprietor may not have to try too hard to get by, eh?

the place seems to have developed a niche serving an all male dirt biking clientele... just saying,... not the most discerning resort customers, just sayin'...

further south, off a different highway, the mehling ranch or astro's atsronomical B&B may be a better place for the quiche-eating wine-sipping crowd looking for a place to stay in the mountains...

Meling Ranch -
Clean basic lodging with fireplace or pot belly in each room. Bring your own alcohol if you want any, great home cooking - at dinner there is no choice, I have had Mexican Food to Fresh Turkey, everything has been great.
Nice place to stay.

Rancho Coyote is an option, located between Mike's and Meling. But, I think it is more in tune to the Off Roading/ MC people than what Meling or Baja Dark Skies Inn attracts...

Leidys loved Mi Pueblito

Mi Pueblito has home-style (Casera) cooking.

yea. thanks ken.... if the reports were as expected (about mikes) the next question was about rooms in valle de trinidad. I have had some great food there, but never even thought about a room.

The owners (married couple) asked us if we needed a room - per night was approx. $30USD. The rooms looked very simple, but recently constructed. The food was great, and the Restaurant has a 55" flatscreen inside. Great experiences like these made my Wife very happy about this particular vacation during Thanksgiving week 2011.

I was at Mike's Sky Ranch in January... The road was really in good shape to drive on. I think last year the rain wipe out the camp grounds. The rooms are clean and simple.

Many of us moto riders appreciate the location but the Ranch itself has become overpriced and has much lower appreciation than in the past. You might get lucky but the food and rooms are not what they were 10 years ago. Attitudes have also changed.

If you go, please let us know what your experience is like.

I was also there 9 years ago. It seemed expensive to the 4WD Club I was traveling with, so we camped rather than stayed inside of a room.
