South road to San Juancico

What is the condition on the south road from insurgents? I remember people talking about it last year saying to take the north road because it was smoother. Funny, but they were right! I have never seen a paved road more torn up and in disrepair/ waiting to be repaired. Has the road been fixed at all? Thanks

Remember to turn towards Las Barrancas to use the new paved highway to San Juanico...

Jaun del Rio posted this photo advertising the new highway route, in 2008:

I transferred that onto the Almanac map:

In 2011, it was reported all done!

Yes the road has been repaired and is all good.

DK, they are asking about the conditions south of the Las Barrancas turn off. It has been tore up for 6 months or more from Insurgentes to the turn off and it was actually better to come in from the north! Lol

Even though the road to SJ was opened and new, the south section was a friggin mess!

Most locals have posted the road has been repaved from Insurgentes north and is a sweet ride! Mula, Erhnhardt, etc. Ready for exploration and fun. I believe this info is recent?! Tio
