Auto Insurance suggestions?
for Mexico insurance? I have used Lewis and Lewis in the past but am wondering if anyone has someone they think is better.

if i remember right, discover baja has a policy that lets you be in baja ANY 90 days in the year. cheap!

Yes, Bajabound is good, keeps records of your data so you don't have to re-enter it all the time.
And, just another impediment to going across the border....
Why can't we have reciprocal insurance like we do with the Canucks?
There are just so many reasons to impede going to Baja these days, and insurance has always been a hassle, even with the internet, not to mention the
expense.

Bajabound is the way to go. I have had their insurance for many years and have not filed a claim but I know if I did Geoff would be there. If you come
to the Agua Viva Golf Tournament this year on July 15 at the Baja Country Club Geoff will be there and you can chat with him in person about your
needs.

Any place is better than Lewis and Lewis and I know this because I have actually had to deal with them after an accident and they and Qualitas both
suck. Go with Bajabound or Discover Baja. I have the 90 day flexible policy that Woody spoke of.

Baja Bound and Discover Baja both use the same highly rated Mexican insurance company...

I never could figure out the 90 day policy, how does
Discover Baja know how many days
one has been in Mex? Especially if you have a 180
day fmm, that you have used a couple times down and
back, that has 30 days left on it, how do
explain you have'nt been down for 150 days?
Not that I would expect to be asked. L& L does have
some not so flattering reports, I do like there standard
$300,000 libility. To me, the Mex Ins Co is FAR more important
than the US Broker you buy the policy from, recently read
of a guy towing a boat around BofLA, totaled his truck and
boat, Mex Ins Co HDI, which both Bajabound/Discover Baja
sell, paid him in full. I avoid the $50000 libility, and bump
it up a bit, although an email from 1 of the brokers
stated they could not remember a claim over $50000

It is just an honor system... that you are not in Mexico more than 90 days total in a 365 day period of the policy. Designed for people who take
vacations in Mexico... Not for people who live there part time more than 90 days a year, or full time.
Baja Geoff can confirm this, since he and Discover Baja have the same policy...

you never know what data bases the insurance (read BANKS) have access to. DHS just might purge some data regarding individual license plates that
cross the border....
