Sentri
My wife and I are trying to renew our Sentri cards. I applied Feb. 9th,2012 and have not heard a word from the. The Goes enrollment system comments if
you have not heard from Goes in eight weeks contact them via computer -CBP.CBPVC@dhs.gov. I tried that and it goes nowhere. I contacted Goes Support
and was directed to the Calexico Port of Entry (east gate) and given a phone number. No luck! I also E mailed Goes Support and have heard nothing.
Anybody else trying to renew there Sentri card and are you having problems?

Sentri Renewal
Our renewals took about 10 weeks, then one notification came in on a Wednesday and the other on a Saturday. Just be patient!!!
Are you renewing BEFORE the SENTRI expires????....you can renew up to a year in advance.

I had the same experience. You will receive the email notification of status change, which will be reflected on the GOES website. Until then,
there's nothing else to do.
I also highly recommend that people renew well in advance of the expiration date. I waited too long, and couldn't get a renewal appointment scheduled
until a month and a half after my card expired. I had to make a trip down south during that time, so I called and was told that I would be allowed
through SENTRI with my expired card because I had a renewal appointment. Went down with a buddy who happened to be in the same situation with his
renewal. Coming back, they pulled us into secondary and then announced that they were confiscating my expired card, but not my buddy's expired card.
No explanation given for the confiscation or disparate treatment other than "they told us to take it." WTF? Anyway, I went to the renewal
appointment a few weeks later, got final approval and received the renewed card.
I'd like to know the frequency of random secondary visits other SENTRI users are experiencing. I've been tagged four times, the last one a week and a
half ago. My truck, which was caked all over with dried mud and dust from a little puddle thumping a few days earlier, got the full going over by the
CBP guy, who then had to spend a couple of minutes whacking the dirt off of his dark blue uniform. I apologized and he said no worries, it made it
look like he was actually working.

We got pulled into secondary in regular lanes for thick mud on the trailer. Of course it had been raining and roads were muddy. They said the could
send us back across to have our trailer cleaned, but after a long boarder wait, they did not make us go back. Luckily. I feel like this crossing into
the US is a moving target. Just when you think you know the rules they change. I heard now, no cooked chicken, when previously you could bring it
across.

Sentri w RV
Anyone know if you can include a motorhome with your SENTRI? We have our interview on Thursday and are thinking about bringing it with us for possible
inclusion.

Thanks to all for the information. The frustrating thing is they say to call if your card is not renewed within 8 weeks and they give ways to call
Goes Support for help. But, I got no support. Guess I will be patient.

Foreign DIRT not Allowed ?
THAT has been brought up once in awhile for MANY years now.
Luckily, we'd never run into it before I read of it here and since, I've always hosed down if needed.
Although it Does seem a little picky, I Suppose it makes sense.

Samething happed to me a few years back, but the dirt and mud was on my ATV loaded on the back of my truck...he told me he could send me back for the
dirty ATV....my reply: I have a gallon of water I can wash it down here while you decide....dirty look and a wave goodby....

I waited 10 weeks for a tentative approval to just register another car. I received it March 15th. I looked up the next available date in Calexico
and April 17 was the first one. I then looked up the next available date in San Luis. The first available date was THE NEXT DAY. Off I went to Yuma
for the night and then in to San Luis 2 hours early. I was in and out and back in Mexico 15 minutes before my 10:15 scheduled appointment.
From now on it is San Luis for me.

I just renewed my Sentri. I went online the middle of March and filled out the application and a week later I was sent an email from GOES to make an
appointment as soon as possible. I went to the new Sentri office in San Ysidro and made the appointment for the following week.
At the appointment the interview took a total of five minutes and five days later I received my Global-Sentri card in the mail. I paid a total of
$100.00. I got the Global because I travel so much. I really thought It would take a lot longer but I just got really lucky. At the interview the
officer did not ask me any questions other than why I travel so much.

Can they inspect your auto and provide you with initial interview? Did not see them listed as a place to go, only Otay is listed. Can I just show up
at the office and be seen?

Yes............we obtained our conditional appointment letter, drove to the San Ysidro SENTRI office, walked up to the window and the first available
appointment was for the next day!!!!!!
They can also inspect your vehicle there, but you have to go to Otay for the actual sticker.

There are some new lanes called Ready Lanes. I thought I saw campers in these... My dad got in a Ready lane walking across because his passport had
this small gold emblem on the front with RFID technology. It allowed him to go to the front of the pedestrian line. The article I read http://www.sandiegored.com/noticias/21301/ready-lane-opens-T... says you can use RFID technology or Sentri. Anyone know what the benefit of these
lanes are? Is it quicker and can you take any type of vehicle through these lanes? I read no one under 16 years old, which is odd because they will
have a Sentri card too....

All travelers in the vehicle over the age of 16 must have an RFID-enabled card to use the Ready Lane. Children 15 years old and younger may
travel in the Ready Lane with adult travelers if all adults in the vehicle have an RFID-enabled travel card.
