Official word from the CBP, and link, on kids:

All travelers in the vehicle over the age of 16 must have an RFID-enabled card to use the Ready Lane. Children 15 years old and younger may travel in the Ready Lane with adult travelers if all adults in the vehicle have an RFID-enabled travel card

Ready Lane info from CBP

The Sentri office in San Ysidro is really scuzzy and there no parking. Must park in pay lots for about $5 per day and walk in. They also do not check vehicles, so you still have to go to Otay Mesa to have vehicle inspected, after you pay for your Sentri card and fees. They were, however able to make an appointment within a few days to get the card. Not much room for all the people waiting.

Otay Mesa has free 2 hour parking, inspect vehicles and is a much better environment. Appointments not available for at least a couple of weeks at this site. Lots of indoor room to sit and wait.

Has anyone renewed their sentri in the last couple of months? How long did it take to get your conditional approval after you submitted your renewal?

Hope it wasn't too long.

Thanks.

So here is a question???

Both my wife's and my passports expire this year as well as our SENTRI cards.

Should be renew Passports first and then SENTRI?

Will out SENTRI work if our Passport is being renewed?
