new airport procedure?
Hola all, so what's it like to go thru the new terminal? do we still get to push the button, and hope for green light or red? I will miss this if its
no longer a part of the routine.
Do they just stamp your passport and away you go? Or have they thought of some other way to delay you from the beer in the ice chest in the parking
lot longer?
Just curious, as I plan to come down soon. I don't see many pic's online about the new terminal either. Maybe there is a video on UTube.

It's the same drill; you push the button and hope for the green light. They do still stamp your passport, etc.; the same as before.
The new terminal is beautiful but empty; there are very few flights and they don't operate everyday. The airport employees arrive & leave based
upon the time of the flight; when they're not there, it's very quiet and eerie. Everyone is hoping for more flights (more competition would lead to
lower fares) but nothing seems to happen.

That was my assumption; I figured once he said "new terminal" he was referring to Loreto.

Forget about pressing the big button....
ALL the luggage goes thru an x-ray type screener, and when they see something they find interesting, the "shake down" begins.
They really went nuts over my home security system!
Not much to worry about, pay a small "Importation" fee, and off you go.

YESTERDAY AT THE NEW LORETO AIRPORT TERMINAL.
NICE, NEW, CLEAN....BUT A LITTLE LONELY & SPOOKY AT TIMES. NO COMPETING AIRLINES = HIGH AIR FARES.
Lots of parking room.
Very reasonable parking fees at 15 pesos per vehicle.
The terminal has two kiosk areas for refreshments.
Hurry up...and wait...a lot of waiting 
Plenty of ground transport available.
Your rates.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

$ 27.00 dls for a 5 mile cab ride to Nopolo. Ridiculous!!
From Guadalajara airport to the center of the city is a "LONG WAY" at a cost of $ 20.00.

now we're talking, gracias, yes Loreto, Thx for the update and photos, its come a long way from no fence around the place and no pavement. Glad to see
its still slow less flights = less people and more $ for air fare yes but less people is worth the price.

...but there's also a new terminal in TJ and it uses same procedure

Ahhh! The dichotomy. Although I can totally embrace the thoughts expressed by Vandenberg, as someone who closely witnessed Cabo from being a sleepy
fishing village with one paved road, to whatever one cares to call it today, the simple fact is that FONATUR has spent a ton of pesos to put in place
an infrastructure in and around Loreto, that can handle a bunch of growth.
Methinks that when the world economy improes and the fear of crime in Mexico subsides, there will be substantial growth in the Loreto area. I'm
figuring that is exactly why the Villa Group invested so much there at a time when it did not appear to make any sense.
