Otay crossing
All I am going to cross at Otay tomorrow morning at 5 am, since I have been told the immigration office there is open 24 hours still. Is it set like
SY with the immigration all the way over to the right? Also does anyone know how many miles/Km it is on Blvd 2000 till you get to the 1, is the
connection completed yet or do I have to take the free rd south a bit till I can get on the toll rd?
Thanks for your help

Otay info
After you clear Mexican Customs/INM, proceed south on Garita de Otay for one mile. You will come to a STOPLIGHT controlled intersection. This cross
street is Industrial Blvd......turn left here.
Proceed 5 miles on Industrial Blvd which will eventually lead you to the toll road for Mexicali. Be alert for those hidden STOP signs at
intersections.
Approaching the 5 mile mark on Industrial Blvd you need to get into the right lane and will soon see signs indicating a turn to the right for Corridor
(Blvd) 2000 or possibly BC 201.......follow the signs and make the right turn......
(if you don't make the right turn onto Corridor 2000 you will be headed to the toll booths for the Mexicali toll road.)
Proceed approximately 26 miles on Corridor 2000 to it's termination with the free road at Popotla. Left turn on the free road to Cantimar where you
can get on the Toll road to Ensenada..........there is no on ramp (yet) onto the southbound toll road (Highway 1) from Corridor 2000.
Watch for cross traffic for the first 5 or so miles on Corridor 2000, and the ever present construction (and potholes) on Corridor 2000 and on the
free road between Popotla and Cantimar.

Thanks guys for the info, is the immigration all the way to the right do I need to do anything special before I get to the crossing. We need to get
visas stamped, I know at SY if you don't get all the way to the right it kind of jacks you up so I am hopping to avoid that at Otay. Will post a
report with pics once back on Monday.

SOME PHOTOS OTAY TO POPOTLA via Corredor 2000
Taken in Sept. 2010... and text from my trip report on Baja Nomad...
We left California at the Otay Border about 6:30 pm, Friday afternoon...

The line going into Mexico moved quickly, and we did get a red light and pulled up to the customs officer standing between lanes, who quickly had us
continue on (only an ice chest in the truck bed).
Ahead from the border, 1.1 miles is Blvd. Industrial where a left turn is made to get to the Corredor 2000 (formerly Blvd. 2000) which is a fast, easy
freeway to the Ensenada highway, just south of Rosarito.

This is also the route to the Tecate Toll (Cuota) highway (Mex. 2-D).

About 5 miles down Blvd. Industrial is where the Corredor 2000 (to the right) and the Tecate Toll Highway (to the left) begin.

The sun was setting as we neared the end of the Corredor 2000 on the Pacific Coast.

The Corredor 2000 ends on the Free (Libre) Ensenada highway at Popotla, about 32 miles from the Otay Border. We went home via the Corredor 2000 and
the Tecate Free Highway (Mex. 2) to the Tecate Border (38 miles from Mex. 1 at Popotla).
