Best Route to Calexico East Border Crossing?
Based on the forum's recommendations I will be trying the Calexico East Border crossing for the first time. I will be coming from San Felipe. I have
google mapped with what it thinks it is the best route. I actually got 3 different routes on my iphone google maps.
Here is the best google came up with (i edited to the the last leg of trip):

Is that the really the best route? If you have a better solution click on the above link and drag the purple line to what you think is a better
route. Then just click the "chain link" button in the upper left corner of the screen (check "short") and copy/paste the new link here for the better
instructions.
thanks

This is probably the best route, once you figure it out.
Yes, turning right at the first traffic light where there is an OXXO on the north east corner.
The best key on this route is to follow the signs to the airport and then the crossing II
Along the way you will have some crazy points. The intersection near the Coca Cola plant is really crazy. Once you get to the intersection in Nuevo
Mexicali and turn right you will see a fiberglass swimming pool store on the left. When you get to the next main intersection you will see a monument
to BCN that depicts 3 hard working men, turn left here. Once you turn left it is probably best to stay in the left lane until you get past the
commercial crossing as there can be many semi trucks backed up.
One you are past the commercial gate get in the right lane. Just past the 4 way stop you will see the entrance to the east gate. The first entrance is
the standard crossing the second is the SENTRI entrance.
The first time you take this trip you will question if you are going correctly, but you are.

So right nbacc!
The route once you are on it......is not all confusing and such.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

We used the east crossing over and over and over again when we lived in Calexico and we remained a little confused----we just felt our way there.

Those do look very simple and easy to follow.
http://g.co/maps/2md2c
The Sentri lane is on the far left a you enter the border crossing, correct? Also, where is a good place to meet when doing the Sentri/Pedestrian
drop off? Google maps only has an O'Reilly parts store and empty lots. The map data is from 2008. I believe McFez mention something about a Jack in
the Box in another thread. Is it in one of those empty lots now?
Edit:
I now see the Jack in the Box further up the road from the border. That's a little to far to walk. I guess the meeting place will be O'Reilly's
unless there is something better that has been built in the last 4 years.
