Cabo
My nephew is coming in Nov or Dec and wants to go to Cabo from here.(Punta Banda) How many overnight stays would that be going the speed limit,
whatever that is, and no unforeseen problems?

About 20 hours or so... Easy to do in two 10 hour days, on the other hand the drive is a great time to slow down and see Baja!

Most of Mex one is SIXTY KPH, with occasional 80's and the odd 40 KPH. The last time I went to San Lucas, my average speed from El Pescadero to Mex 1
was around 10 KPH, but I understand a lot of this stretch has been finished.
December is good for around 9 hours of daylight for me. I average around 38 MPH given fuel and rest stops, military retenes, and feeding my face.
Punta Banda is around 100 miles from the border and it's almost 1,000 miles to the tip. Call it 900 miles. Around 24 hours. Nine hours a day = 342
miles/day.I'd call it three long daylight days of dedicated driving by my standards. Some try to do it a lot faster; the roadside capillas a testimony
to that.

Seriously. Who actually drives the speed limit, especially in the vast rural stretches of the highway?
That said, I also agree that unless one has some sort of deadline or appointment, there really is no reason to attempt to make the trip in two days.
There are just so many wonderful sights, restaurants and hotels; not to mention the people.
At least two nights, maybe three just to enable one to absorb the charm.
