Looks like he is making for a location that is well south of Guaymas.......maybe coming ashore around Guasimas or further south.

Interesting. Surprised no one else has tried this yet.

Old stuff. Been there, done that..

I recall a few long-distance swimming events that occurred in the SOC in the last 35 years. Most of which were unplanned, unlike this one.
Hah!...Thank Poseiden, one of those swimmers is most probably lurking & reading this now.

But for real hard-core adventure, nothing beats ...taking a siesta during an outgoing tide & floating out of the Bay.

2012-06-12 08:05:10 - Swim Called at 24 Hours
The Solo Cortez Crew pulled Paul at 24hrs. Conditions worsened in the
night: choppy swells, very windy and cold. Paul's on board resting and
talking. We are SO PROUD of Paul & his amazing crew!! Send your love. What
an amazing journey we've all been able to partner in. Thanks for including
us all, Pablo!!

Today is the 50th anniversary of the great Alcatraz escape

Which is both true, and likely irrelevant to this thread.
But, good try , Pablo,
Makes more sense to me than walking around the peninsula in the middle of Summer!
How far did he make it?
Gonna try again??
