Was there last week and it was slow on the YT and windy off and on. There's big squid to be had.

Thanks. Any particular spots for the squid? Were people using the large (10"-16")squid jigs or were regular jigs OK? Any suggestions on
cleaning/cooking those jumbos?

The guys were said they were thick at Guadalupe reef. On regular jigs. Can't say I've ever cleaned one though. They told me you have to cut both sides
of the outer layer off. Makes sense to me.
OK, southbound as soon as I shower.

just got back yesterday and yes big wing and yes big squid on the 7 mile reef. be very carefull as our boats went through two night of hell in front
of gecko. when we finnaly were able to move them i had a foot of water in the boat and the guy north of me was not as lucky. his center console rolled
over and he lost all his electronics and both moters to the salt water. if your at gecko tell franko i said high.

4baja,
Very interesting report. How did the center console roll? Did it come ashore? Or did the tide go out and the waves roll it. Please let me know; as I
was planning on mooring my boat in front of Gecko next month. Now I just might put it on the trailer everynight or leave it on the hook in front of
Guillermo's. What do you think?

i dont know, the boats were fine the day before but the next day one was rolled. i believe because of the large swells comeing through that it kept
taking water in the back and as the boat became heavyer it simply rolled when a large swell hit the bow. till the summer weather hits( light winds) i
would recomend taking the boat out every night. as igor and doc says, you will get a better night sleep if you do. we could not because we came in
during a heavy swell and wind and had to moor the boats and come in on a raft. will be there for the yellow tail tournment and july. fish on!

4baja, Thanks for the information. Hopefully by the time I get down there the winds will give me a break.
