Scorpion Bay in October?
I have traveled many times in Southern Baja (I have a place in Loreto) but have never been to the Scorpion Bay area. The end of October I will have my
self contained 30 foot RV, traveling North from the East Cape to Loreto with 2 friends and they want to explore the Scorpion Bay area for 3 or so
days.
What kind of weather are we to expect?
It's barely off the path we will be taking so why not go?
What is the story on an RV "park" on or next to the water? Hook ups would be nice but not 100% needed. Body surfing? Fishing, maybe Tuna or Wahoo in
October?
Would really not like to camp in "town" but on or near the beach.
Once you guys give some great suggestions, I will get to part 2, BBQ and cook our own food or go the the local restaurants, etc? But that and more is
for later.

Weather should be very nice...........
Don't know of any hookups in San Juanico. In fact was unaware of any RV park........
Cars go down on the beach but camping on the beach is frowned upon from what I know. I think it would be hard to take an RV down the ramp to the
beach but you could just charge it!!! There should still be waves that time a year and it'll be a lot more quieter than July. Fishing galore.

I'm not sure you would even make it to scorp in a 30 footer.........but I haven't been there in a while.

October can be a great time to be here - still good surf and warm water and you are in the prime time for fishing. Wahoo? maybe, but you better be
willing to run pretty far out. Tuna, good chance but every year is different so you just never know. But, there are almost always dorado and
yellowtail around at that time of year.
The road is in decent enough shape so getting a 30 footer in is no problem. The campground is open, no hookups but you can camp right above the beach
on the bluff.

Howard, just let 60% of the air out of the tires and floor it down by the pangueros. you should be on the hardpack in a minute! 
like they said, stay at the campground and pay +/- $15/person/day for a toilet (you have one already) and trash pickup! when is the cantina gonna
open, manana?

How is the road between Insurgentes and San Juanico. Last year it was a real mess.

Yes it was bad......but I've heard it's been repaved. I think the road in from the south would be just fine in an RV.

We pulled our 19ft travel trailer via the Insurgentes route a couple of days ago (June 15) and definitely would not have made it without 4wd.
Towing a trailer twice the size as our light, high-clearance little casita would be very sketchy under the current conditions.
Between Insurgentes and Las Barrancas they've removed sections of the road bed for repairs and the detours require you to drive in baby powder-like
polvo that's almost a foot deep in parts. There wasn't any work going on when we drove by, and don't know how long the repairs will take.
Even more of an issue will be what this summer's chubasco season brings...? Lots of sketchy areas on the "new" paved road up from the South that will
have problems with a little bit of rain.
You'll probably want to ask for an update after this summer.
We broke the super duper weld reinforcement BigWooo had done on our trailer's frame on that last stretch, dang it. Our drive South from NOB took us
through several areas of road construction on Hwy 1 and beyond and the detours take you thru several miles of the full spectrum- rocky, bumpy,
gravely, soft, polvo. The last stretch of soft stuff must have been the final straw. waaaa...
