Bicycling for Peace, currently in Gerrero Negro!
Aloha! We are Chris and Diana, we left Ensenada over a week ago and have already had quite an adventure on the Baja Penninsula! We are now resting
at Malarrimo hotel, camping out and letting our arms heal (we are both suffering from an aggravated nerve condition which leads to random tingling and
numbmess of the hands.). While we are here, we are happy to meet with any of you, currently sitting to the laft of Mas Margarita at the local coffee
shop, Caprichos.
If anyone is interested in learning some yoga, kung fu or tai chi, please contact us. Also, Diana is very knowledgeable in Ayurvedic medicine and
massage, whereas I am knowlegeable in Chinese Medicine (needles, moxibustion, cupping, tui na - medical massage) and cranio sacral therapy, we offer
these services by donation and are happy to help you!
If you are a member of a group and would like us to speak with your group, school, or if you just want to say Aloha, let us know!

Aloha to you two too and welcome to the Baja Nomad sandbox. My goodness, your trip sounds amazing....good luck & suerte. Oh and sure, I'd love a
massage if you want to ride out to the Pacific side...hang a right at Vizcaino! We have LOTS of projects on the go you can trade help for camping. Are
you on a schedule? it's gonna be pretty unbearable hot riding on the highway further south...like through the big grades before Sta.Rosalia..you may
have to ride at night.

headed? I heard you are going around the world, is that so?

It would be interesting to hear your tentative plans etc. A few years back we met a bike rider who was going around the world --- with a few train
rides involved partially due to time and beating the weather in some places.
Do tell more!

Chippy, darn tootin we are doing more than just biking, we are doing our part to help the planet and the people, feel free to take a look at our site
and of course, so many thanks for your support.
Shari, Sadly you are a bit too far out of our way and potentially more than our bikes loaded with 70 kilos a piece could handle... As for the heat,
well, it happens, what can we do but become stronger As for biking at night, I
dunno, depends on the place, I reckon braving the heat may be safer than nighttime biking here... Your place looks pretty cool, if you have freinds
on our path, please direct us to them!
Goldhuntress, Aloha to you! There is a lot to our ride, we speak at schools, give "by donation" medicine, teach vegan cooking workshops, help people
understand nutrition, teach yoga, kung fu and tai chi, and really, I think the main idea is to be examples of what is possible. If people take the
time to read a little about us, we are two folks who just want people to see that truly anything is possible, you just have to DO! It is hard and
scary often times, but the result is priceless. We met with the local govt today and were given rides to the local univeristynto speak, but alas,
they are on vacation. We may put some organic gardens in at Malarrimos, if that doesnt happen, it may be time to keep on keepin on. Aloha everyone!

DianaT, tentative plans are as follows, we are velo tourists, i.e., we bike a majority of the time, I would say 70 to 80 percent, our primary aim is
to have an adventure, not set a personal record for pedaling 100 percent. I left Lancaster, Pa in 2010 and now, with Diana whom I met at her yoga
studio in Ensenada, will be spending at least the next 10-15 years biking the planet doing good where we can. We will continue south through the
Americas, hang a left on a boat in Brazil and go to Africa where We will meet with a very good freind of mine, Mr. Phil West and pedal north, from
Morocco we will take a boat to Portugal, do some sort of route through Europe, head through the middle east however the various wars my country is so
intent on starting will allow, India, where Diana became a yoga teacher, Asia, where I spent much time when I served with the Navy, Australia, and
lastly back to Hawaii where Iwas living when I got the idea for all of this while apprenticing in my Chinese Medicine and Kung Fu studies and learning
farming, andmof course, how to surf! Aloha!

Hola,I usally wont talk to anyone crazy enough to ride the baja hwy !! I'm taking a different angle on you two..looked at your site and wish the both
of you a safe,fun, and enlighting journey.....your lucky to be riding on the baja road (not a hwy) today as just a few years ago it was ALOT more
narrow.....as I think most of us baja folk's will suggest you do not ride at night,nope,dont,nada,never,forget it,get that thought of any possible
night ride out of your head !!!and I'm talking all the way down to panama...I can't say beyound that as thats as far as I have been!! enjoy all you

Captkw, Mahalo for your compliments, I didnt realize how crazy i was until my ride to Chapala and drinking 2 gallons of water in a 4 hour time frame!
100% with you on the night riding, i save that for places that are car free, like when i went a backroad from Pittsburg to just south of Cleveland in
the Akron, Medina area=] 22 hours of riding straight! Keep an eye on us, well let you know whats south of the canal=]

as a suggestion that gan save you alot of greif..I dont know if when you checked to mex that you got a "transito" stamp in your passport ?? If not get
it done when your crossing the ferry !!!very IMPORTANT as it makes the border crossing a hell of a lot easyer...trust me on this as you dont have to
all the check ins and outs...and dont give up till you find a custums person that will give you" transito" all the way through your journey and will
also save you time,money,headaches...thats the ticket to just passing through..know what I mean ? vern..LOL and are you aware about the changing $ gig
at the frontera's (border's) ?? most folks dont know about it..if any ???'s about the journey to panama that I can answer,,feel free to ask..you do
know the "trick" on where to spend the night,, south of mex?? welcome to baja...K & T

captkw - Muchas Gracias for the info, I am on it, when I get to the ferry, get the stamp, Muchas Gracias, as for changing the money and all the other
stuff, I am new to every Kilometer I come upon, any info you have to share, I am all ears!
I dont know the trick on where to spend nihts, thus far I have been asking at places we eat at, couchsurfing.com or warmshowers.org.....

get into san ignacio is a army chek point (no mato bro) check the church in town (cool) opps...mission...I think the doors have been open like a
couple 100 years..long live the 4-runner !! k& T... Ps the guy that I hired to help me repair some boats in the harbor(needed 3 hands) here in
sant cruz has a 89 4-runner and has keeped it garaged 20 years and runs like new!!K & T

captkw - thanks for the kind words about Diana, I am a lucky guy, aside from being very pleasing to the ojos, she manages to deal with me which is
something I have had a hard time with for the last 36 years - lol!
I had a 4Runner when I was living in Hawaii learning to be a simpler human being, farming, kng fu, yoga, chinese medicine... SURFING! I became vegan
due to the fact that when I went o check out a guitar for my 30th bday, the 4runner dumped the tranny fluid on the driveway of what turned out to be a
vegan community, as I was 3 hours from my place, I decided to stay for the night, that became a three month stay and 6 years later, well, now Im
biking the world and my meals since leaving ensenada have been ahuacate, frijoles, arroz, and nopales, I of course decline asking what the beans are
cooked in=] I ended up learning to replace a tranny, took me 2 of the three months I stayed there...
I guess San Ignacio is the next point, Diana has been the route organizer, me the cheerleader=] Sounds right, it was San something, we have a
connection there and are supposed to do some kind of project, when she gets here Ill write down better details....
As for the chek point, they have totally cool since I entered Mexico, the best was on the mountain road connecting Tj to Ensenada, all the guys had
thier guns in the air and were calling me Forrest Gump, long live Forrest, I felt like an arriving dignitary=]

Hey capt, you may be getting them mixed up with defrag4, they drive the 4Runner, these two
are on bicycles.
