Dish Network and the Hopper

Has anyone gotten the new Hopper receiver and if so, how? They can't possibly want to make it a house call can they?

the hopper will not work with out a multi switch and home run cables from the dish to the multi then to each receiver.

They come install it to ensure it is done right and avoid calls that it doesn't work.

Directv has the same thing with their whole house DVR.

these are not for mexico.

Could a person have the hopper for four of their TV's and an independent receiver for the fifth TV?

not without a quality vid dist amplifier, or an RF modulator to assign a house channel.
then you have to decide do you want to feed all with HDMI or with RG-6?
can get very complicated.

you really need to talk with Dish.

I have Directv and can send the DVR signals to any other house TV via RG-6 and an RF converter. But those distributed signals are not hi def.
to do that takes equip i can not budget for.

This intrigues me?

Why?

US D*sh network is "not for Mexico" out of the box.

If I have 2 dishes on my roof now wired into a switch and then into the receiver and then into a couple of TV's...what's the problem? What about the Hopper (new tech receiver) is "not for Mexico?"

I'll call Dish tomorrow and see what they say regarding them installing it. I also see several authorized retailers that may have work-arounds.

what i am saying is what the Hopper does is allows DVR from any maching to be viewed on any screen connected to other machines. To do this you have to set up a network with interconnectivity.

otherwise of you want a recording receiver just get one and watch the taped shows on the TV the dish receiver is hooked to.
