But why does receiving and sending mail seem to be such an Issue in the Baja,,or other places??

If you want to get reliable mail delivery from the US/Canada in the Ensenada/Punta Banda area, sign up with a mail delivery service....well worth the
expense.

All incoming and outgoing mail for Baja must first pass though Mexico City (according to my sources).

I have used the Mexican mail service for 12 years with absolutely no problems. All of my Social Security mail comes to my apartado here in San Jose.
A friend sent me a CD and it made it.
That said....I also have a box at Mail Boxes Etc in Chula Vista. They come here twice a week with the mail. This is mostly for our business and is
certainly quicker than Mexican Correo. They do not accept merchandise, only letters, etc. You can mail letters out for a fee...last time I did it,
it was 30mn per piece.
oops....San Ysidro not Chula Vista

Because it has earned a reputation of being unreliable...especially for international mail.
Mex correo is improving, but it has a long way to go before I'll rely on them.

WE have a private mail service for everything. As a test my brother-in-law sent an envelope with a recipe in February to our home in La Paz-- still
missing in action and we never expect it to arrive.
Our mail person rides a cycle with a bag on the back. A few weeks ago we saw him stop to deliver a phone bill to a neighbor- he stopped his cycle got
off and threw the envelope into the yard- back on his cycle and rode away as we watched the envelope blow across the yard. We stopped got out and
picked up the phone bill and took it to the door and stuck it into a seam in the door.
Ever wonder why CFE delivers their own bills?

Our C.F.E. bill didnt arrive on time so we went down there and found out you can take a old bill and pass the bar code over the reader and it will
tell you the amount due to date.
this can also be done with your Telnor Bill.

-------and what will happen to those without internet access??? I have dozens of friends and aquaintenances that don't have computers, and many more
that don't understand what they DO have.. The only reason we survive the complexities of the "net" is that one of our son's is a computer-nerd for
United Health Services, and he saves our bacon regularly!!!
I can't even figure out how to access what I want on YAHOO without his help, and it is only going to get worse as we age more. Not good!!! I spent
an hour trying to access the weather I want to see on YAHOO this morning, and never COULD figure it out since YAHOO has apprently reconfigured it's
Home Page. It says my "location" is in Chico (wrong), and my "default" address is in Independence, Ca about 400 miles from here, and I cannot seem to
reset/correct either. AArrrrrrgh!!!!!!

Not as long as the government keeps bailing them out.
Oh, that's right, you have a little first hand experience with the postal department.

again barry you and your friends are in a minority...
there used to be people without cars because they couldn't drive...only horses and mules...they were left behind...you will be too...
look around and watch "your future" clicking away on their devices...texting not talking...emailing with out their computer...working while they sit
around eating...
someday we MAY even land a man on the moon

Edit: sorry my response didn't show up. I must be computer ignorant. Any how what I meant to post:
same thing as when the motor vehicle repaced the horse and carriage; something new to tax.
