Sorry Osprey. I didn't see your name clarification. I, as well as you, felt a bit frustrated in initially reading Sally's situation and was less tactful than I could have been in suggesting more info would help. Everybody here wants a happy ending to that story.

You and I didn't read the thread so we don't know what tragedy has befallen the poster so we are in no position to act appropriately respectful. All we could do was offer help on the faith that some Nomad was calling out for it.

I think forum members are blaming me for being uninformed about something serious. Maybe they want me to read the whole thread/story so I could apologize properly. I would do that if I could be sure they all read every line, became involved, offered aid and solace appropriate to the situation. Never thought of this forum in this family feud light before -- it's hard for me to feel ashamed, chastened for things I don't know about. Hell, I'm still making amends for things I did know about.

Double slap

"7999 BN's thought you were the jerk Osprey. Your original post was insulting with a dab of poor comprehensive skills (and you are a writer)!

Now you do it again.

Who may be the drunk one, is what I ask."

I guess I am one of the few that doesn't think Osprey said anything wrong. When I read the original post I thought "what is she talking about and I wonder if she is talking about La Ribera?"

After reading the comments since then I still feel that if she had simply asked for help and asked for those offering help to U2 her, this thread would have ended much sooner and without the rancor towards those of us that did not know about the history of this poster and her recent problems.

I hope that this thread and it's sad turn will end and that the forum can get back to the many enjoyable and beneficial topics we have come to expect.

Everything aside La Ribera is small, I would think that if someone who has lived there a long time and knew most of the towns people would know if there is a man living there with 2 young gringo girls.

Yep, but her message said she thought they were in LB, NOT LR. It is small and I mentioned that and it's why I asked if I could help.

You caught flack for being rude to a lady in obvious distress. Was the post ambigous and confusing, yes. Did she deserve being ridiculed - Not at all. Not knowing the back story is no excuse for accusing her of being drunk. Just my opinion, but this one may have to move over to the things you know about amends list.

That was a little self deprecation humor to soften my image. I don't knowingly do things that need mia culpas. And that wasn't ridicule -- I know ridicule. That's my way of showing frustration, the same frustration others felt when they were asked for help but didn't/couldn't understand the request.

What was obvious to me about her distress may I ask?

Anyone (or most folks) could read her post and "sense" clearly that there was some sort of distress.

If you didn't comprehend the post done by her.....then one should ask politely for addition information...........and NOT accuse her of being a drunk.

I'll end this little debate.....til someone here accuses me of retorting in a non sober state of mind.

I don't really know how to say this, but I think all this banter is to cover up the fact. The father and the girls are probably there and everyone is covering for him. He has probably said bad things about Sally. And doesn't want her near them. Happens all the time.

Yes....he is a very nice gentleman......as I can say to the tune of being here at the BN for years also. The Grandmother with the missing family kids have been here for years too.....and is a very nice BN member. She is not a drunk.........as falsely accused by your buddy.

Just looking for her missing grand kids. Excuse my grammar BTW way......it's crapola :-)

What comitan said may be true. I asked to be U2 ed to exchange information privately. That never happened. For reasons to protect myself and others, I will not share the info unless I feel safe to do so.Calling me names sure doesn't work.Lets put this post to rest, as it has gone no where except bringing to light some things I would never have thought about some here.
