Loreto car rental

Anyone know names of car rental agencies in Loreto?
Recommendations or cautions regarding any of the agencies?

Alamo, Hertz, Fox, Europcar and there may be one or two more. I recently rented from Alamo and it was fine. Rent for a compact including full vehicle insurance was $60. The other companies may be equal or better. I was in a hurry and didnt check.

Last November I rented a compact car from Euro car that I picked up at their office in Loreto, not at the airport. I went through Orbitz and believe it or not, it was less than $70 FOR THE WEEK! They make you by liability insurance even if you prove to them that you have your own Mexican insurance. I think the total for the week, unlimited kilometers was around $150 for everything, car, tax and only liability insurance. Better coverage costs more. It was a stick shift, good air con, roll up windows but ran fine. I put around 900 miles on it and had no problems upon return.
JUST MAKE SURE WHEN YOU PICK UP THE CAR YOU WALK AROUND THE CAR WITH THEM AND MAKE THEM NOTE ON THE CONTRACT EVERY LITTLE SCRATCH.

If anyone has used Fox rental and can let me know how it went, that would be awesome :)

I booked a 4x4 with them through Orbitz, and I'm a little concerned about how the you-must-buy-our-insurance dance will go. It's running $1000 before insurance, and I wonder if I should try again . . .

We used Fox back in May actually picked up the car at the SanJose Del Cabo airport since we were staying on the Eastcape and then drove to Loreto, stayed a week, and then returned it at the Loreto airport when we flew home. No problem with Fox at all they had the best deal with us doing the one way drop off etc. Went with the min. insurance and booked on line with their web site direct. 1000.00 sounds HIGH

I was in Loreto the weekend of Oct. 6th and we rented a van from Fox. Another family member paid for it so I don't know what it cost. They were fine and the guy even took some of our luggage that would not fit and dropped it at the hotel for us. No complaints.

I used Eurocar a few years ago there. Make sure and check that you have a spare tire. They were ready to send me off and when I looked, no tire. Otherwise they were fine.
