boondock near mexicali and cross


If we come to Mexicali from Rumirosa intending to cross at the east crossing: What is probably the best time of day to cross?
Is there anywhere to boondock for the night so we can cross real early?

I think it is the "day you cross over" more than the hour, Fridays and Sundays are a definite NO

you can always sleep in the walmart parking lot and use the old crossing in the morning.
