what IS THE CHEAPEST WAy TO MOVE A HOUSEHOLD?

I don't have a whole lot, maybe 2 pickups full. Are there truck rental Co.'s that go to MX? Any MX movers that will, PICK UP in the states? 60 miles from border? What about import fees? Yes, I can do research online, but, SERIOUSLY, I am defending myself full time from the B.S. BHL is throwing at me. The latest, criminal, court contempt charges that I refussed to sign the listing papers that would sell my home from under me, giving me 24 hrs to vacate after escrow closes. The realtor, HE HIRED without my consent has 12 buyers who want in this complex. Mine is the ONLY unit available. How in the hell am I to do that now? I have nowhere to go, no time to look just full time defending. I FEEL like lighting a match. lol...kidding, really.
ALSO, I have 3 pets to consider, all well behaved and fully trained. 1 non barking chijuajua, and 2 cats. They are the ONLY family I have. Seriously. No siblings, parents, anybody. My long lost Baja family is about it. So, I truly need some helpfull advise.
Thanks again,
M

M, you need a lawyer. Half of the income you guys made while together is yours. Go spend it on good lawyer, sounds like you're seeing much of now anyways.

Put your stuff in storage and check out places you want to live.
If there are 12 buyers today, there will another 12.

A good lawyer will put a stop to all this pretty quick.
Go hire a junkyard dog(lawyer) and turn it lose, that's what he did.
If you don't have the money for the retainer, a good lawyer will get it from the BHL
Don't burn down the house, burn down the BHL.
Fight girl!!!
Sorry, but that's the way it is.

When I moved from Ramona to Rosarito I had 4 kids ect...I moved using my truck, seems the easiest and cheapest way. Sadly I am not near you right now to help but my wife's cousin who is Mexican/American is-he owns a construction company so perhaps one or some of his workers would be willing to help for $ or a couple beers-if ya want u2u me about it-I'll ask him if it would be ok and u2 could chat to see if it would help.

M - there is a guy who is Australian who might be willing to help you. tomorrow I can look into this for you - he is an importer.

Two truckloads is a lot - perhaps consider selling some bigger items on craigs list, so as to get it down to one truckload and pronto.

Good luck with your move to Baja !

M,

You need to buy him out and keep the property. Get a loan, pay him off with it, and pay off the loan by renting out the house (with you living in it). If at all possible don't sell the house now because you will never afford to buy another one. Make smart financial decisions at this time. Don't be rushed or be reactive.

I dont know you so take my advise with a ladrillo of salt but be careful, GET A LAWYER. Having gone through this I can tell you that it 'could' be considered abandonment if you vacate the property and flee the country. Although I dont know all your circumstances, I HIGHLY advise you to get a lawyer...and yes, you can get the judge to have him pay your lawyer fee's...
At the very least, you can buy a book at any bookstore which will educate you on the basics, I'm sure there are laws which protect you...
Buena suerte and stay strong fellow nomad!

Not sure if you've thought of this or not OR if you've already done it. If you file Chapter 7 BK right now it will halt everything. It's drastic but it WILL stop the sale of your home.

........"The realtor, HE HIRED without my consent"

In California......it is the legal requirement that BOTH parties sign the listing agreement. No realtor in his/her right mind would list the house......their Ca. RE License would be suspended immediately....and would face a stiff fine by the California Department of Real Estate. Not to say a civil action there after.

Unless I missed something here........this story has too many flaws to it.

help the woman move on...
if everyone would just address the question at hand and stop editorializing and picking barely formed scabs off raw emotional wounds, she'd can try to focus on what's most important.

minimize down to treasured items, get a friend to help load it into a rented trailer, and then tow it to MX and help unload. You follow in your car, your friend takes the trailer back for you. From Laguna to Rosarito should only be a day start to finish.
I would suggest taking a breath and consider not abandoning your property. Get some legal advice and heed it.
Good luck.
