Dock at Serenidad ramp in Mulege
Does anyone know if the dock is still there after Paul? I had heard that part of it was swept away. If so, how much is left? Also, any problems
launching? Seemed that a lot of debris was washed through the river & I was wondering if it made navigation more difficult (more shallow).

Hm... I also wonder about those mysterious dams built in the river mouth earlier this year. Didn't look like something that could have eased the
flood water drain when sh-t hits the fan (which seems to happen every year now that climate has changed and keeps on changing).

I think he's talking about those levees that we saw with the heavy equipment over by El Patron; remember when there was talk about them dredging the
river?

Yes, they are dredging the river.
The job is not completed yet.
The riverbottom dredge was dumped, not to create dams, but just dumped-- for free-- where anyone was willing to accept it and it was within reasonable
safety.
The river mouth by El Patron is routinely swept out to sea and the restaurant property undercut with every flood. The dredge material was put there at
the owner's request to guard against that.
It worked; the restaurant suffered no damage this year and is open for lunch and dinners.
The lighthouse always is marooned from the floods.
The current from the north-east is filling it in as it always does.
My husband launched his panga from water's edge at El Patron Restaurant the other day.
However, he did this at low tide and returned at low tide. The natural land-bridge has filled in significantly already.
Pancho Villa's restaurant was dismantled a few weeks before the flood and lots and lots and lots more dirt was placed on his property which extends
back up into the arroyo. I understand he intends/intended to rebuild the restaurant further back.
The charming little one-lane dirt lane that spans the head of the river under the highway bridge in town has been repaired once again.
edit: I'll ask about the boat dock "Donation Pier" over by the Serenidad, but I'll bet somebody will have responded before I do.
side-note: the airstrip by the Serenidad is open!!

The dock was washed away - not sure when it will be replaced. Not sure about launching on the the Serenidad side of the river. Someone in Mulege at
this time will probably post an update.

Bummer; I had a feeling you'd say that. Just when they got the dock in pretty good shape, too. Hopefully it will get put back together this winter.

There is a crew collecting dock equipment, the old floats stc. The road at the dock is being graded now. Guessing a useable dock will be up in 10 days
or so.
River road has been graded and now needs some fill. River road from Mike and Eliz casa to town is closed and mostly destroyed, that will be awhile
until it is rebuilt. Not even passable by moto or quad.
Carlos, el Patron, Cuesta Real and thr Jungle are all open.
Things are getting back to normal rather quickly.
I will post pic tomorrow.

We were sure sad El Patron was closed last July... the previous July trips to Mulege were always highlighted by eating at El Patron.

Great photos Willy.......looks like the river came up pretty high.......how many homes were lost?
Edit: I just shoveled a foot of snow this morning and a huge tree limb (20') will need chainsaw work when this storm is over. What climate

I got an email this AM to bring down some parts for a bracket to join a couple of docks so it sounds like a design has been decided upon and work will
start at low tides this coming week.
