Dogs at military post before San Felipe
Are there drug sniffing dogs at the military posts on the way to San Felipe? I know better than to bring something illegal. I dropped something
between the seat and center console and could not find it. Debating on removing the seat before driving down.

I be cleaning my car before going to Baja. Your vacation to the wonderful sunny San Felipe beach may end up at the dark chambers of the
Mexicali Police Station where life's lessons are learned......
I seen dogs there at the check point.
Also......if you been smoking dope in that car.....they DO have dogs at the American exit side that will indeed pick up on the scent.......then off
you go to the dark chambers of the secondary inspection station for a few hours.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

When passing through San Salvador a few days back, a soldier had a dog sniffing passengers at the airport. I notice that the dog was alerting on just
about everyone, sure enough, when the dog came to me he went bonkers sniffing my back pocket where I keep my wallet, the soldier said to me," you have
money in there don't you?", apparently it was a money sniffing dog. I asked him if he wanted to sell the dog.

I thought a little bit of weed for personal use is now legal in Mexico? Anyone tested this law yet?

Just about every US bill has cocaine residue on it. Drug dogs will hit on money 99.5% of the time.
Why do Liberals insist and demand that achievers pay the way for nonachievers who are to lazy to succeed, or are just failures by their own choice?
Criminals prefer unarmed victims, dictators prefer unarmed subjects.
Why do ignorant people continue their blabbering when it only proves to others how stupid they are.

I would suggest testing the new laws in Colorado and Washington before testing Mexican law.

On August 21, 2009, Mexico decriminalized "personal use" possession of up to 5 grams of marijuana, half a gram of cocaine, 50 milligrams of heroin, 40
milligrams for methamphetamine and 0.015 milligrams of LSD.[59]

It seems
to me that evidence obtained based on dog searches should not be allowed based on the fact that anyone carrying currency could trigger an alert by the
dog rendering results no better than a random search. The SCOTUS will be making a ruling on this

Yea, two things will happen here when you show the write-up to the dog: He and his owner will make the questioning sound Scoobee Do makes in
cartoons. Sore of like: Huhhhhhhhhhhhh
I tried something similar once when I had an official copy of a page of the Mexican Regulation indicating what I could bring across the border with
out paying duty because I had an FM2. The person I showed it to, looked at it and said, 'I don't know about these things'. What he did know was how
to direct me to the bank window where I had to pay duty.
Buy it and smoke it in Mexico, OK. Bring it from the old country, not unless the Cartel approves it.

I remember reading that Mex weed reg MAY only
apply to Mex Citizens, not tourists

Last month I saw and tested an alleged "dope sniffing" dog at the military checkpoint just north of Loreto.
Guess what? He couldn't smell anything, other than my own dog's scent.
I have a friend who trains "dope sniffing" dogs, (labrador retrievers, belgian malinois and german shepherds) and he tells me that the dogs are only
good for around 15 minutes in a typical shift, and that if another dog is on board, their effectiveness goes to 5%.
