Jags

Since this about Jags !! has anyone heard "Lucas,prince of darkness" they sure do ride nice !! last month saw a station wagon model..cool ride...I would not think you will find anyone with the skills to repair those fine but picky electrical systems.. but I do wish you luck and looking forward to hearing your results !! An idea though might be to call the Volkswagen dealers they might know some mechanics that work on foreign cars. Don't pay any attention to the male chauvinist comments ..any woman question or comment is stupid it seems on this board if it's the least out of the ordinary or original.

A friend is taking his VW to his mechanic in Ensenada, soon. He says he'll ask his mechanic and thinks the mechanic will know of someone if he himself can't fix Jags.

just for the record ...

Back in the 60's I owned a XK120 roadster that I loved to drive and never had a problem with. Back then I did all my own mechanic work. Wish I still had it today (at the price I paid for it)

PS this site only lists a total of 8 Jag dealerships in MX, mostly in DF:

I don't remember ever seeing an XK120 in the 60s, but then, I just learned they stopped being made in 1954 (!?), when I was barely out of the womb. ;}

I LOVED XKEs, even as a pre-teen. I think they were my favorite cars of all time. Getting my XK8 was like fulfilling a long-time wish to own a Jaguar "sports car."

You are right Niki. I bought it in 1963 and it was a red 1954 XK120 that the previous owner had brought from England and had a fuel injection system made for it to eliminate the 3 SU carbs that where a pain to balance and maintain.

Here's what it looked like except mine had wire wheels and didn't have those rear fender skirts:

Beautiful! BTW, since there are several Jag dealers in Mx, I am quite optimistic that someone in Ens. can fix 'em. In fact, I just met someone yesterday who says a neighbor/friend of his always has Jaguars and gets them fixed in Ens. I'm waiting for the contact info. :spingrin:
