I dont use it, but consider TOR. It will "hide" your location.
No worries

I just reviewed previous discussions of this issue. Very helpful and thanks to those who have posted on this issue.
I just signed up for Hideyourass.com a website that allows you to us a US Internet Provider (IP) address while out of the country (US).
Use: Lets say I have subscribed to a web service, say Pandora or Netflix in the US and want to access it while I am in Panama. Say Panama blocks this
site, or Pandora will not recognize my computer as originating in the US, where I have subscribed to their service, so they block my access if they
see my computer is linked to a non-US IP service.
A Proxy Server allows you to hide your searches, block your IP identity and use US services you subscribe to by using a US IP address.
I hope that this explanation is clear. I am technologically challenged. Any more questions.
Given my lack of sophistication with issues like this I found Hideyourass.com to be very user friendly and easy to use. I must however turn it off in
order to send email using my onboard email program, an issue I may not have to deal with if I used an internet based email program.

I use Strongvpn http://strongvpn.com/
It's easy to set up and costs about $50/year.

Last week we renewed our Strongvpn for the third year. Cost was $55 usd minus a $15 credit for referring a customer to them.

Has anyone used a modified router to hide behind?
I think CYA is one of the locations that supports the technology.
With the modified router, one can have wired and wireless devices and they will all be hidden behind the router.

Got a question for you on this "proxy server" topic. In BCS our only option for an internet server is Hughes Net satellite and it is not the fastest,
is this a problem if we decide to use a proxy server??

I read in depth about it and it is clear that the technology is beyond my pay grade. I think it can be done, but that's from my limited knowledge
base. I will post on how hideyourass.com works in Baja when I get it set up, fingers crossed along with my eyes from learning about this.
hideyourass.com is very user friendly and has great technical support. I have no economic interest in this company....a pre-emptive strike.

Here is a Wikipedia Explanation About Proxy Servers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server
Capt KW mentioned ixquick.com - I have been using this website as a search engine for more than ten years. I like Ixquick because it doesn't record
or report your online searches. I don't care much about watching videos or TV or movies online, so I have not used the proxy service very often, but
when I did, I had mixed results - slow loading, timing out, etc. I am not criticizing their proxy service, I just didn't find it very useful for my
needs.
One of our computer gurus recommended using HideIP. I tried it and found that some websites recognized that it was a proxy and blocked access.

Bah
They always make it sound difficult. As long as you take your time and follow all of the directions, it is pretty straight forward,
Most of the time??
As soon as I get my telnor WiMax, I already have an old Linksys router that will accept the new BIOS firmware.
And hope for no Doooohs!
