A great site for all national and international flights is www.fly.com. They have the best rates around, they look at hundreds of air carriers and give you the best price. For example, May 1st to May 8th there is a round trip flight from Tijuana airport to La Paz through Volaris for $227 round trip. Also, Mexicana has one for a higher price. Just make sure when Fly.com is searching and another window pops up for travelocity or hotwire, you don't click on those, they will be considerably higher priced.

Good booking engines:
fly.com
farecompare.com (didn't use this one for a while)
kayak.com

Why it is "kayak", don't ask me, have no idea. And yes, save you time and un-click the pop-up windows for Expedia, Travelocity etc - they won't be any cheaper.

I am not sure i phrased my question correctly. First , we live in Portland Oregon.
Question , how is anyone going to get to La Paz from the West coast since Alaska air is pulling out.there are flights from Tijuana via Volaris but what us west coast city and us carrier is going to fly to la Paz?

Do you absolutely need it to be a "US carrier"? Anyway, this is what those booking engines like fly.com or kayak.com are for - you dial the origin, destination and date (some engines allow approximate date +/- few days), and get the results, be it a US carrier or other. If you dial Portland to LAP, say, for May 2013, you will see Alaska to LA, few hours layover, and Aeromex to LAP.

Btw, it is relatively easy getting to La Paz from Cabo, takes about 2 hours and buses are every hour or two. Flights to Cabo are plentiful and often cheaper than to LAP. Just my 2 cents.

you put in your city of origin, Portland, and city of arrival, La Paz. It's pretty easy except looks like the beginning of May the fares are over a thousand dollars.

Lengua,
I don't believe they have announced a carrier yet. When it was first announced in the Baja Citizen that Alaska was discontinuing, they also reported that La Paz was in talks with another carrier but I haven't heard anything new yet.

Yes, $450 one way Portland to LAP. I like kayak.com better than fly.com because it shows results +/- 3 days around your preferred date.

PS: make sure there is no overnight stop anywhere. When I look at it, a lot of flights in May make 3 stops and arrive in the morning next day. You don't want this. Filter the results. Narrow down the departure window to 5am - 1 pm (left menu), and disregard the flights with total duration over 20 hours. Only few depart in the morning and arrive same day in the evening, and still make 2 stops, it sucks. I would rather landed in Cabo and took a bus to La Paz.
