Gold coin purchase in Mexicali?

Curious if anyone has bought any gold coins in Mexicali?

I have bought coins in larger cities in Mexico, but not Mexicali

If so let me know where?

I recently asked Bancomer in Mexico City via email about buying silver Mexican Libertads at the their branch in San Felipe. They said just go to the branch and they would sell me all I want. I didn't ask about gold Onzas. This was about a month or so ago, price they quoted then was $485MXN per Libertad. At the exchange rate of around 12.8 it worked out to approx $37USD.

Why do Liberals insist and demand that achievers pay the way for nonachievers who are to lazy to succeed, or are just failures by their own choice?

Criminals prefer unarmed victims, dictators prefer unarmed subjects.

Why do ignorant people continue their blabbering when it only proves to others how stupid they are.

I have bought Libertads in larger cities but the numbers they would sell were very limited. If you go in to the bank, they can order you up a larger number.

I have seen better prices however north of the border. check out

Interesting, I know that I asked about gold in San Felipe and they said it was by special order only.

I will try it out when I am down

Thanks

I have never seen a Mexican gold coin in Mexico that was not priced much higher than the same coin in the U.S. Of course, there may be exceptions.

When I bought the last Centenario in Ensenada this summer it was actually cheaper than paying spot plus fees here in the US.

Now, that was taking into consideration Peso vs $ and spot pricing for that day. Also keep in mind the Centenario is 1.2 ounces.

Okay, todays prices at Banamex 26,800 @12.50 = $2144 USD
Bancomer 27,450 @12.50 = $2196 USD

Price today at Tulving 1.2 oz times Spot (1695.97) = 2035.06 USD
+ 4.50
_____________
2039.56 USD

There probably is some advantage to buying out of sight of Big Government however.

Jerry Dunder buys and sells gold, silver and coins here in Ensenada. He is located at Cafe Orleans next to the Chevy dealer or you can email him at jerdaddy2002@yahoo.com

Now you get it!!

Also, I have never seen $4.50 above spot. Maybe 4.5%, but most places are far more than 4.50

Tulving is showing Gold Eagle coins at spot + $70

As an aside, if you buy gold at the current prices, I wouldn't hold it for long. When interest rates start rising the price of gold is likely to plummet, maybe back to where it belongs at about $400 an ounce.

Russia is holding on to 800 tons of bullion. That could affect prices a lot more than interest rates.

Think that's wild? Take a gander at this...

You are right, I was looking at Silver coins when I did that. the Gold 50 Peso coins are $12 over spot.

$2035
$ 12
$2047.00.

You can go online with Banamex and Bancomer and get the current prices for Libertads. I am sure that Mexicali banks can get whatever you want, and you can also see the sell as well as the buy.
